Works amazingly well
Fun, novel, effective and cooks great. Used for 3 night camping trip over open fire. Made awesome pizza pockets, cinnamon rolls from can, pumpkin pie pockets and apple pie pockets. Minor consideration.....its cast upon so made for withstanding heat, but cadet iron us very heavy so be prepared to prop it on something while you cook, not hold like a marshmallow skewer.

Good for camping
Was a gift for someone that camps. They liked the gift, was heavy made of good material but a bit hard to clean.

Look Forward to Using on the Firepit & Grill
As soon as we get a string of warmer weather I plan on using this on the firepit, as well as the outdoor grill.First impression is the sturdy build quality - the metal rods securely screw into the pieces and solidly stay in place. The balance is a little concern as the cast iron is heavy. An issue obviously if you don't have a way to prop the double pans up.My wife uses a waffle iron for grilled sandwiches, and is excited to use some the same cooking recipes for this Uno Casa pie iron.I'll update this review with more photos and any updates soon. This will be a fun tool in our outdoor cooking adventures.

Comfort food just got a WHOLE lot more comfortable! Grilled cheese bliss, here I come!
Grilled cheese sandwiches are a comfort food in my household, and with the cold season coming, we're planning on regular reliance on them -- and tomato soup! -- to get through the "am I sick, or is this allergies?" months ahead. I had no idea that that these cast-iron sandwich makers existed, and I wasted NO time getting mine prepped and ready for use---And this is absolutely GAME CHANGING. Bonus points: it works as easily over an open flame (gas, propane, grill, firepit) as it does with an induction stovetop burner. I just got a 2-burner induction stove unit for my little custom kitchen island, and just HAD to make some sandwiches-- and I was not disappointed.I can't really express how freaking awesome these things are. There's none of the mess or challenge often associated with getting "the perfect gourmet grilled cheese" out of a pan, griddle, or skillet: this takes ALL of the labor out of it (and even encourages getting a bit creative with filling and seeing what you can get away with).I'm getting a second so that I can get a stack of sandwiches going all at once and keep up with the winter blues. This is epic win for my household, 10/10 could not live without this moving forward.Product-specifics: high quality, EASY to use, sturdy, and I expect this to be one of my kitchen items that my grandkids wind up still using long after I'm a mummified memory on a shelf in the basement. They don't seem to make much that is built to last, these days, but this item impresses. I hope I don't get proven wrong on this front, and will update my review if it fails me.

Better for Camping
I really, *really*, wanted to love this thing. It looks cool out the box, the build quality is fantastic (from the heavy cast iron to quality wood handles), and who doesn't love food in hot pocket form?Unfortunately, after giving this a few tries on an electric burner I was wildly disappointed. The actual cookthru was awful and I was left with some simultaneously burnt and undercooked globs of pizza failure. They were delicious, but you can't season away the taste of failure.Cleaning could be worse, as thankfully you can unscrew the handles, but it was still more of a challenge than cast iron has any right being.Ultimately, I still like the concept of these, and I'll give them another try next time I have a campfire going, but I dislike that I have a piece of cookware that is only useful when I'm over an open flame.
