Get some lube in the square taper before extracting the crank arms.
The weakness with square tape cranks is their reluctance to come off. The threads in the crank arm can strip out making the tool useless. It is best to spray in some lube like WD40 an hour or more before the attempted extraction. A couple of taps with a mallet, prior, can't hurt either. Put grease on the square taper before reinstalling the crank arm.

Meh… works for me
I’ll preface this by saying this is definitely one of those “get what you pay for” circumstances. I’m quite sure for $5 plus some pennies you are not getting high quality metal work here. But some who seem to be deep into doing crank swaps and bike repairs really bought a $5 puller and expected professional quality? Really? If you’re like me and you have a one time need for this item (in my case a stationary bike repair) then by all means ignore these unrealistic chaps and buy this one. I can probably count on one hand how many times I’ll use this tool in my lifetime, so $5 is right what I should be spending. If you’re popping cranks like crazy every few weeks then suck it up and spend more money. But I personally don’t need it to last, I need it every once in a blue moon… and for that it will hold up well.

Weak & useless
Low/bad quality. It stripped under force and didn't pull the crank

It works but...
Ok, so... it IS a six dollar tool. It is generally crappy built, as expected for the money, but it did pull both cranks off a 30 year old bike. The ease of use...well, take a close look at the adapter. I was going to put an impact on the end...and...well...there is a "socket" welded on the adapter tip....so unless you have a set of reverse sockets (is that even a thing???), you will be using a wrench on the outside of the tool.
