Solid shoe but not friendly to orthotics
Let me say up front I do like the shoe. It’s great for everyday wear (I’m a professor) and stylish enough to go with most of my clothes. It seems well made and has sturdy soles, two requirements for someone who is on their feet a lot teaching. I also have big feet (14W) and this was one of the few brands I found in my size, so kudos to them for thinking of the big guys. I also wear special orthotics for plantar fasciitis. Normally this just means taking out the insole of new shoes and inserting my special insoles. However, Clark’s has made that incredibly difficult because they GLUE their insoles in the shoe! It took me over half an hour to peel the insole out in little chunks. It was really glued tight. Even now there are still residual elements of foam that I just can’t get out and which causes slight discomfort under my orthotics. Not sure I’d buy this brand again. Summary: good shoe but not friendly to people who wear orthotics.
