I did have a problem with the radio which BrainyDeal customer service corrected very quickly. They were FAST to reply to my email and handled everything efficiently. Baofeng...they haven’t let me down yet!
Haven’t done a real world test with this radio, but out of the box it seems well made. Charger is cheap, as most Baofeng chargers are. Quality is above my expectations. Features are top notch.

Better for those with manly sized hands
Compared to the UV 5, the keypad buttons are a bit bigger. Display characters are a little bigger and yes you can squeeze seven characters in for the channel names with CHIRP. Some changes in the expensive looking case to make it more dust and water resistant. Unit is somewhat thinner at the top but also a bit wider. Better for those with manly sized hands. The flashlight is improved from the UV 5 model, if that's what you buy an HT for. Elsewhere the antenna is the same and the mike/speaker jack is the same. Audio volume is the same. Battery and charger are entirely different. Doesn't seem to be aftermarket batteries for this model yet. Or a pouch. Does get warm on high power setting. Manual has some conflicting information as to settings and specs, as does the item description at Amazon, although nothing significant. If you're familiar with the UV 5 series and CHIRP you can figure this one out. Programs just like the UV 82HP model using CHIRP. The one feature that earns demerits is the dual PTT switch which is also used to switch between VFO A and VFO B, and almost always transmits briefly in the process. Overall if you like the UV 5 and just need a little more power to make solid contact with your repeaters, this will do just fine for not much more expense. Purchased this as a gift to program and give to an fellow ham that doesn't own an HT. Should do fine.

Great product for the price
Great little radio. 8 watts more than enough. Little trick, take a small 19 inch wire and wrap it around ground side of the antenna. A repeater a long ways away gave me 2 bars. Put on the wire and it went to 4 bars. Love this little radio.
