Crafty Dolls by Jane Bull (2014-06-30) Hardcover – 1826

First let me say this is one of the cutest dolls with adorable outfits, I have had the pleasure to make. The illustrations (I'm a visual learner) and the instructions were clear and easy for someone with no "doll" experience. I had just learned basic knitting so was delighted to see an offering of a sweater, hat and scarf for the little doll. It was so easy! Having a bit of sewing experience, I revised a few things: cleaned up raw edges by hemming, sewed second doll on machine instead of by hand and sewed the boy's ears on before stuffing doll--just seemed easier. But Jane Bull has offered the opportunity of guaranteed success if you have no sewing or knitting experience or a sewing machine! And, yes!, she shows you how to do it all very simply and clearly! I am so in love with my little "Lottie" doll and her adorable, clever clothes!

Fantastic and inspiring book. My 7 year old and I are making a doll together from this pattern. She is very excited by all of the accessories and clothing you can make for the dolls based on the patterns in this book. The directions are very clear and there are a lot of color photos . Highly recommend this and other books by Jane Bull.

My 7 year old daughter and I are loving this book. She has made plans on what crafty projects she can do by herself and which ones we can do together. Highly recommend for those crafty hands that enjoys creating things in simple and easy to follow instructions.

My daughter is 10 years old and constantly checked this out at the Library so I gave in and just purchased it. It is so step by step with photos on hand sewing small projects. Love the way it is illustrated and tips and steps. :)

My wife has checked this outr of the library many times, so we decided to purchase it. She loves it.

Great book - i can't remember where I saw this advertised but it inspired me to make a doll for my daughter. i need another project like a hole in the head but alas I ordered it anyway lol. Lots of info and ideas in the book.
