To me it looks like a very good mix of sand, earth and organic matter. I believe that it will be healthy for my young cacti and succulents. Seems like good quality for the price.

Love the soil. My daughter gave me a rare desert plant for my birthday. I've terrified I'd kill it.one day I noticed it was looking bad on one side. Realized where I had it was killing it, and the dirt! Found this soil at Amazon. Better pot, put it in heat. It was beautiful. It's doing 👍 great. The soil made a huge difference. Looking up the history. It's comes from south Africa. You water maybe twice a month. Thank you.

*Ideal basic* succulent mix, add extra grit if you're heavy hand watering/not great with judging watering schedule or use ceramic pots. Chunky and fluffy mix, has plenty of large perlite. I subscribed for the discount and I'm keeping my subscription active through out summer even though I'm all repotted, easy to grab bag without having to think much about next step. I used this for a stalled syngonium and 5 days later there's 3 new leaves coming through and plant is becoming too tall for space on shelf. I'm planning to pot all my plants in this product if the quality is consistent.

I mean...it is dirt. I am new to succulents and it is noticeably different than regular potting soil. I had a Christmas cactus that wasn't doing well and repotted him using this stuff and after a good watering he perked right up. It drains much faster than the usual stuff, which is by design. I would recommend watering outside your first time so that you don't overflow your drainage catch basin until you are used to how much water the soil can take.Also, don't order this with other items. Amazon, in their infinite wisdom, put this in the same box as a cook book I bought. And it is a bag of dirt. A ziplock bag of dirt. So as you can imagine some dirt escaped into the box and all over the cook book, which is a gift for my girlfriend. Assuming they will be just as smart with you, definitely order this and wait for it to ship before ordering anything else unless you don't mind it having a bit of a dirty, gritty feel to it.They also put deflated air packing bags in the box, so it likely spread dirt around since the contents could shuffle and compress the bag. I couldn't find a place to review the packaging, so I guess it goes here.To conclude, the dirt was great. The packagers were not.

I recently got into plant parenthood and started out with a few succulents since they tend to be very resilient and have a strong will to live regardless of the expertise level of the person who owns them. I didn’t have a sense of what kind of soil to get so I started by going to the local Home Depot and finding succulent soil there; the main issue I kept running into was the soil would attract little critters so it made my plan experience less than ideal. I started looking here and this was a recommended brand so I figured let’s try it; I want to say I’ve bought like 5 more bags since then as my collection continues to grow and every plant has done well! I like that the soil is breathable, so when I water them I don’t worry so much about the water not getting stuck halfway down the pot as it very easily drains out. The more important thing is it doesn’t attract the same critters so it’s been easier for me to manage the plants and I’m sure they appreciate it too.

This product is at an amazing size, and the ease of use is fanaminal, i havent noticed any signs of growth rate however that is because it is fall/winter. The value for money is throw the roof it is one of the cheaper premium soils out there. I haven't noticed any plant growth yet. The functionality alone is fanaminal. Use this soil and combine it with a different premium brand of cactus specialty at a 4:1 ratio add lava rocks. My plants love this product.
