Good quality and plenty of it
We have one of those cat hotel boxes where they sleep on top and have scratch posts integrated. One of these posts is a favourite and had been trashed so I was thinking of swapping then over to delay replacing the post. Then a friend explained we could do it ourselves! A few reviews later and we bought this.Although I thought I'd measured the thickness of my current rope, I clearly hadn't. 6mm is fine, but our other post is a thinner style. I'm happy with my choice. The colour is sandy rather than very pale, so my posts don't match but again, not a problem... there is so much rope that I'll end up doing the other one eventually. It took me about 45 minutes to wrap one cylindrical post, with about 25cm depth of coil. Please bear in mind that I've not done this before! Having watched a couple of helpful videos, I decided to staple the top and bottom and glue. When I removed all the old rope, they had also stapled and glued. I didn't have a staple remover, but a narrow screwdriver or bradawl eased them out.I already had a glue gun and stapler from previous craft and DIY events, so make sure you've got the tools you need.I used around 6curved U shape staples to secure the initial ring at the bottom of the post and then placed hot glue on the post just above the rope, so that it would bond the next ring of rope without applying too much so it squeezed through. At first, I was too ambitious and tried to go all the way around the post, but it cooled too quickly... a quarter turn at the time was enough. By the time I eventually got to the top of the post, I added a few staples in again. Job complete. The post has been immediately used, it appears good quality, a suitable thickness and perfect for scratching. Whilst I'd normally say I'd buy again, there is so much that I probably won't need to! I do recommend though, just check you've got the tools you need. Oh, I used about 8 glue sticks for the job!

Cat tree saver
This rope is of very good quality and is perfect for anyone looking to replace the rope on their cat tree. It’s especially useful if your cat tree itself is still in good condition, but the ropes have worn out. The rope is sturdy and easy to work with, making it an ideal substitute. My cat loves the new scratching surface, and it has brought new life to our old cat tree!

Excellent product.
I bought two of these to restore my cat’s tower but one was enough for the job and even more. I am really happy with the results and my cats too. :) I’ve got this tower for almost 4 years and is now perfect to last even more!I recommend this rope 100%!

Just to make buyers aware
I have just used my second roll and both rolls of the first meter or so comes to an end. Not good when you need a continuous length. Other than that I am happy with my purchase. String seems good quality and very quick delivery

Works perfectly, bonus length estimate
Good quality chunky twine bought to repair a "well loved" cat tree. The included toy was a nice bonus, and kept the cats distracted for long enough to get the tree repaired. The rope did the job perfectly, paired with a heady-duty stapler using U-type staples. In case it helps anyone, here’s a quick formula to estimate how much rope you’ll need to wrap a cylinder: `((d+6)*pi)*(h/6)/1000`. In this formula, `d` is the diameter (width) of the cylinder in mm, `h` is the height in mm, and the result gives you the length in metres. You’ll be surprised how far 60m can go! Who said GCSE maths would never come in handy?
