Amazing water quality
This was purchased to filter the water going into my DIY cold plunge to help keep it clean as long as possible before I need to change the water. It works, the water I get out of this filter is very clean and it’s lasted a really long time so far!

Easy to Install
This water filter removes particles larger than 20 microns and meets NSF/ANSI standard 42, both of which are included in the standards that the name-brand filter also meets. NSF/ANSI standard 42 “establishes minimum requirements for systems designed to reduce non-health-related contaminants.” The contaminants removed at standard 42 level include chlorine, taste and odor, chloramine, particulate, iron, manganese, zinc and total dissolved solids (TDS). Standard 42 also ensures that the material safety and structural integrity of the product have been tested. This filter has no indication that it meets NSF/ANSI Standard 53, which is the testing of over 50 different specific health-related contaminants, including: lead, cryptosporidium, VOCs and chromium. There are RV water filters that include certifications for both NSF/ANSI standard 42 and standard 53, and for that reason I give this filter a 4 star rating. This filter does include a convenient flexible hose adaptor, which will help prevent damage to the RV water inlet valve.

It's a filter!
As other reviews have mentioned, it's a filter. There's not too much to these. All brands seem to be relatively the same at this point. This one works and it comes with the hose adapter, which is a nice touch. Comparing the adapter to the adapter that comes with the Camco Tastepure, I will say that the Camco adapter is slightly longer overall... the hose length is maybe 1/4 inch longer. And the plastic on the Camco adapter seems to be thicker and better quality. Not enough of a difference to justify paying a significantly higher price for the name brand in my opinion, though.

RV Water Filter
Replaced our old filter with this one this past weekend. Seems to work well. I don't see any difference between it and others I've purchased in the past. The flexible hose protector is a nice bonus if you don't already have one.

Works as expected
Disposable RV water filters of this type have been refined for decades and are basically generic. This is one of those. There's not an unusual amount of carbon waste when you first rinse it, the flow rate is good, and it doesn't crack open under normal pressure -- all the things you take for granted when you buy one. A nice (though common) inclusion is the strain-relief 6x0.5-inch hose which helps prevent damage to your rig when moving the supply hose around. My 4 stars means it works as expected at a reasonable price. You can pay double for the same item at Camco. But 5 stars is misleading -- it really doesn't stand out from the rest. And at least in one direction, that's a good thing.
