My city just started a curbside composting program, so I was excited to try these out. First of all, I love the size and shape. These can easily accommodate a large serving portion. I tested the durability for wet food items by microwaving then eating a bowl of corn chowder. It held up in the microwave really well, but got noticeably flimsier as I ate the soup. By the time I finished moisture had begun to seep through to the outside in a few small spots, and scraping my spoon along the inside of the bowl left a pulpy scratch in the material of the bowl. I would not recommend serving very wet items like soup or dips in these bowls unless you intend to finish them within 15 minutes, but I don't think that was necessarily the intention. They hold up quite a bit longer for slightly wet foods (rice, pasta, drained veggies or lightly sauced meats) and hold up indefinitely for dry foods (chips, dry cereal, etc). There was no papery or chemical taste or smell. Ultimately, these are a good choice if you compost and aren't able to use regular dishware.

Made to last the entire meal. I used them for my pancake batter in the mornings, bowls for cereal, beat eggs, etc.. never leaked once.
