So I've used these over the years with varying degrees of success. It is important that the soil is kept moist for at least 2 weeks after application. Last year I put these down twice, once with a watering can and once with the miricle grow spreader (honestly the most useless thing ever purchased) Now last year 2024 was so wet, either these were washed through the soil of they simply didn't work. Lawn destroyed with a massive infestation of leather jackets, some of which I'm still finding now (May 2025). However these are the only things available to the home user in ther UK.

We had hundreds of leatherjackets on our patio last year. Bought this and applied as instructions. Nothing this year!

Really works against leatherjackets / daddy-long-legs.
We had patches of dead grass in our lawn where leatherjackets were munching away at the roots. Also, there were quite a lot of daddy-long-legs around in our garden and getting into the house.I applied the nematodes as per instructions - using a watering can rose that has large holes ( I tried a fine rose and it got blocked up straight away), and applying in dull conditions (nematodes dont like sunlight). I also watered them in after applying them - but dont go overboard as they can drown. Within a fortnight the grass was growing back and there weren't as many daddy-long-legs. Unfortunately, the product isnt cheap and you really need to reapply monthly for at least 3 months for a lasting effect. The nematodes don't keep, so you need to keep ordering them.Although they are expensive, they've solved our problem and our lawn is now lovely and green :) .

Complete waste of time and money!
I applied this at double strength to my garden and followed the instructions meticulously, and for the ensuing two weeks I ensured my lawn was kept damp, using a considerable amount of water through my hose/sprinkler. I was extremely disappointed this weekend when taking up a section of turf to create a planted area that there was a huge number of leatherjackets still under the surface. I will be seeking an alternative product in the future.
