Great system, easy to set up and install - ...
Great system, easy to set up and install - all you need is to plug everything in. Cameras are robust and waterproof, the unit is quite small. Ethernet cables mean there is no need to power the cameras. The only drawback is the strong LED light - makes the cameras easily noticeable when glows red at night and also shines off any glass surface. This can easily be fixed by taking the camera apart and unplugging the LED ring and the sensor power cables from the main circuit board (you're doing this at your risk and I do not hold responsibility for any damage caused).Doesn't always come one if you switch it off regularly, so you may need to flip it off and on again. Image quality is great, LEDs are quite powerful if you need them - but as I discovered in most of the cases disabling them makes a better image at night.

Camera quality is pretty good - wishing I'd gone with 1080p as mine ...
I got the Zmodo version of this system.Camera quality is pretty good - wishing I'd gone with 1080p as mine is only 720p!App works well on my android phone and the NVR has plenty of settings and configuration to ensure teh system is optimised.Nigh vision quality is OK - more about being able to detect any potential intruders, rather than identify them - but this is low cost system, so works as expected.Overall, system seems robust enough and time will tell how good it is in the long term.

Looks good, sadly let down by frustrating non-working functions. Really disappointed but it was cheap. There's often a reason!
I purchased these after reading many reviews of similar products and so felt having had it for a week or so now, I should leave a review.Pros8 cameras and a 2TB hard drive included for £400 which deliver good picture quality, and are simple to setup to use locally.ConsDoesn't seem to record motion detection unless the unit is set to record all the time, you can't just record motion detectionEmail notifications simply don't work with any provider I've tried, or the 46 people who've logged issues on the support forums.Blocking part of the image for motion detection is ignore if you use the online web viewerYou can't connect to the system from a Mac.The app provided is terrible, especially on an iPad, but better apps are availableI was offered a refund from a very friendly and keen to resolve sales person, but I bought this to replace an old system, I'd run the cables, and had hoped I could make it better and so I declined to sent it back. I also declined a £10 "refund" for the inconvenience.I believe some better firmware could improve the system, but from what I have observed on the support forums, I can't see this happening. These is little response to issues and most of the issues seem to relate to things that should work that don't.I'm now restricted to having the system record locally, and for me to connect to it via an iPad to view live, but have to be home to view any recordings or motion alerts, which I think is a real shame. Picture quality is as expected for a 720p system, and good during the day.

Video Loss and Remote issues
(currently in contact with support - pending resolving) After reading mixed reviews, I thought I'd take the plunge but 48 hours after installing Im not convinced of the quality and seemed to be plagued with issues. Ive got 6 cameras connected and am experiencing sparadic video loss from all of them, one minute we're all good, the next the local video feed disappears and displays 'video loss'. And then to add insult to injury when the video feed finally returns it just freezes constantly, impossible to view. Then we have the remote apps which always states my 17mb internet line plugged into the DVR box is too slow so I am unable to get a feed, strange when its the only device using the bandwidth and Im trying to view from a 38mb line. "Connection timed out. Internet connection speed is too slow.". One of the 6 installed cameras is failing to use night vision so its just black at night which isn't too helpful. So overall after spending a few hours installing this Im not too happy at all. I'm going to troubleshoot for a day to see if I can resolve any of the issues but if not then its being returned back to amazon and ill order something else.

It was very easy for me to install just running a single wire ...
I installed this system in an office building that i run. After doing a lot of market comparison and reading quite a few forums i decided that the order for me when choosing when choosing a DIY CCTV system is:1. Ease of use and OS2. Price3. Ease of installation. quality of pictureThis may not have been the cheapest DIY system on the market but its reviews for ease of use and ease of installation swung my choice. It was very easy for me to install just running a single wire to each camera. after installation the connection to the App and the internet was really simple just a simple QR code a few steps and you are in.So over all for a cheap system it does the job and has had no flaws now for 2 months of running

Pretty good...but
Good value for money - does seem to need a lot of bandwidth to view over internet

Not 720p and very poor cameras
I bought these as a cheap alternative to a much more expensive system. I shouldn't have. The cameras are not 720p quality and are less than a lot of 800tvl cameras I have installed in the past. Picture is very blocky and not anything like I have installed in the past. 3 of the cameras are permanently black and white even in daylight conditions. I also am very wary as to why these cameras are not wired to T-568B standard and only uses 3 strands out of the 8 on cat5e.
