Q: Why is this units output voltage only 14.4 volts per the specs, when other units show, and my battery requires 14.6 volts.

I have had the same concern. I did some research, and apparently any voltage between 14.0 and 14.7 is fine to charge a LiFePo4 battery. But, some sites explain that the ideal voltage is 14.4 because the ideal voltage per cell is 3.6, so multiply that by 4 and you get 14.4 volts. It seems that all the charger companies advertise 14.6 because that is the voltage everyone else is advertising and they don’t want to stick out as being different, or perhaps they don’t want to be thought of as charging at too low a voltage. What does ‘em clear is that if you charge a a slightly lower voltage, then the life of the cell will be longer, though the capacity of storage will also be slightly lower. I think most of us buy these batteries because we want a battery that will last a good long time, so charging at 14.4 volts should be good for obtaining that goal. I hope this helps. I have not purchased this particular charger, but I am going to buy a 14.4 volt charger.

Hello! Yes you are definitely able to! Ensure to hook up the positive clip to the positive terminal of the first battery in the set and the negative clip to the negative terminal of the last battery in the set to ensure proper charging!
