Just like the Berkey
These filters are a great replacement for the Berkey style filters. They are exactly the same except the top of the filter is a plastic top instead of solid filter like the Berkey. So far the taste, assembly, and use is exactly the same. All parts come with it to prep filters however I am glad I had my larger rubber flush thingy from Berkey to fit my larger faucet. That important yet small piece did not come with these filters. Having just started using them, I do not know how long they will last. Yet at this price, I feel like they are a good substitute for the Berkey system. Dye test done and water test. Happy I got these - was slightly skeptical when I purchased.

Great product!! We love it!
We have a fairly large family and really wanted to eat and drink healthier. This filter was easy to set up and we could all taste the difference. The water tastes good. The filters will last for awhile for us. So far...so good. No complaints!

Excellent product that our family uses all the time.
I highly recommend the USWF to anyone seeking reliable, easy-to-assemble, and portable countertop filters. I debated on not getting the fluoride filters, but now I am glad I got those, too. The water tasted great. I am really happy we had this on our camping trip

Very Good Filter / NSF Certified
I first used a filter of this type when I was deployed as an advisor to the Israeli Military. They would take water from various sources, put it into the water container's top compartment, and filter it by gravity into the bottom compartment. It worked exactly like this filter does. That said, I don't know what filters they used to clean the water. The Wife and I do a lot of extended beach camping every year. We fill a storage container of city water from Corpus Christi and then run it through this filter to clean the taste and smell of city water. From my military days, I knew I wanted this type of filter versus something like a plastic pitcher-type filter. The NSF certification is the 'gold standard' for water purification, and I knew I wanted the NSF certification, which this filter has. After nearly three months of heavy use, I'm very happy with the performance of this filter. It takes the chlorine smell and taste out of the water. I can't attest to removing fluoride because that is virtually tasteless. The filtered water tastes and smells good when it runs through this filter. Technically, the carbon filter should remove residual chemicals from the city water, making it safer to drink. Corpus water has a very high level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Most of the TDS are calcium from oyster shells used to process the water. The calcium leaves white residue on cookware and other items that have water evaporation. This filter doesn't remove that calcium. I measured the TDS before filtering (635 ppm) and after filtering (628 ppm). The alkaline pH also remained virtually unchanged before and after filtering. The design for this filter is time-proven and utilized by most gravity filter manufacturers. The water container is stable when filled with water and also when empty. It's not going to tumble over with assistance. The description lists "304 Stainless Steel" used for the filter. In an ideal world, "316 Stainless" would be used. 316 contains a minimum of 2.0% molybdenum, which makes it much more corrosion-resistant than 304; however, as it is a more expensive element, it generally makes 316 a more expensive grade of metal. This water filter comes as a kit with all the important options included. The metal stand to set the filter on allows placement on a countertop. With this riser, filling a glass or pitcher is easy while the filter sits on the countertop. The metal stand is sturdy and holds the filter securely even when it's full of water. The sight glass is a tube above the spigot that indicates how full the filtered water container is - it lets you know when to pour more water in the top. Overall, I'm very happy with this filter. It's an economical and healthful way to improve the taste and smell of 'already safe' city water.

Cool clear water 🎶
I love the way my filtered water tastes. It tastes clean and pure. Unfiltered water in my city tastes like you scraped the bottom of a crusty swimming pool and put it in a glass, so I really appreciate the way my water tastes now. I also like that I only have to fill up the large reservoir once every few days, as opposed to every day with my plastic Pur dispenser. And I like that stainless steel is not in danger of leeching harmful hormone disrupting chemicals into the water I'm attempting to purify, like plastic. And the spigot feels much sturdier and dispenses a stronger stream than my old dispenser. Basically, this is a superior system in every way. Sure it's a bigger cost up front, but it requires fewer filter refills. I was afraid that it would be too tall and would prevent me from opening my cupboards, but it's just the right height to fit under them. The assembly instructions seemed complicated so I outsourced them to my handy housemate, who didn't have any major issues. I'm very pleased with this device.
