Brighter than the high-output fluorescents these replaced. I purchased 8 and installed 6. Be aware that not all tombstones (the part that holds the end of the light tube) are the same. I had to replace mine on two of my fixtures so they all matched the new led tubes. Before your project, be sure and check your light fixtures to determine if you need different tombstones. They are not difficult to install, but they do add another step to the conversion.Rewiring was relatively simple. If you choose to do this yourself, be sure and turn off the power at the breaker or fuse box. Remove the ballast, unscrewing any wire nuts and cutting the other wires close to the ballast. You will need some wire nuts; you may be able to reuse the ones you removed when you removed the ballast. Take all the wires from both ends and strip about 1/2-inch of insulation from all of them. Wire strippers are handy for this chore, but the job can be accomplished with a sharp pocket knife. You must be cautious not to nick the wires; if you do, simply cut off the damage and try again. Then, take all the wires from one end of the fixture and connect to the hot (usually black) wire with a wire nut; then take all the wires from the other end and connect to the common (usually white) wire with a wire nut. It makes no difference which end hooks to the hot and which end hooks to the common.If you don't feel comfortable doing the rewire, hire an electrician. If you have a bare (sometimes green) wire with the power source wires, it is ground and should already be connected to metal on the fixture, and you should not need to disturb it with this rewire. When the rewire is complete, reassemble the fixture and insert the new led tubes. As these tubes are 8-foot long and not as rigid as the glass fluorescents, there is some sag with these tubes. I added some U-clips, screwed into the fixture just above each tube at the halfway point. It would have been nice if these had been included with the new led tubes, but they were not. I was aware of the issue from previous reviews and purchased a package of 20 U-clips from a different vendor in preparation of this conversion.These lights are brighter, come on instantly, are silent (no ballast hum), and use less power. The lights were delivered in an 8-foot (plus a few inches) long and strong cardboard box. The contents was fully protected during shipping. I was impressed with the quality of the shipping container and packing.

I am kind of new to led lighting. So i did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews to educate myself. It seems that the more i read the more confusing it gets. I just wanted more light in my garage. I do bodywork and painting and as i age my vision is getting worse. I have to be able to see what i am doing down to the finest of details because anything i miss will show in the finished product. Like everyone else cost is a factor. But if the lamps do as they claim to, then cost isn't my main worry. They advertise them to be brighter, cheaper to operate, last a long time, use no annoying ballast, no flickering, instant on, and easy to install. Well, i have been lied to by advertising before and try to make a decision based on study and reviews of those who have tried them. No one who has been burned by a product will leave a good review. And there are those that are never satisfied and cant leave a good review. They will make a rating deduction because they weren't made in their favorite color or something. I ordered these bulbs. Shipping was good. Packaging was good. Installed them. And i can say that they do as they are advertised. I have 26 lamp fixtures, when i put bulbs in the first four, i had more light than all 26 lamps previously combined. Now my garage looks like an operating room. I can see all the way to the lowest parts of the cars very well. Very pleased with these bulbs. I replaced bulbs in 6 fixtures instead of all of them because i wanted to see for myself if they would do as advertised. I will be ordering more to finish the garage. If its this bright now, can't wait till i add the rest. Only thing that is negative about these is you have to remember to not look at them. They will blind you with bright white light for a few seconds. A small price to pay for having bright lights.

Lamps arrived quickly, and were packaged well. The lights are bright and have worked perfectly for the few days I have used them. I like how you can aim them by turning them in their fixtures. In general they seem brighter then the std florescent bulbs they replaced. They do generate some heat, probably similar to a std florescent fixture. I wish the bulbs came with a sticker that says "This fixture has been converted to LED do not use Florescent Bulbs." The installation took about 15 mins to remove the old ballast and rewire the fixture to 120v AC at the bulb sockets.I would give 5 stars but I would like to draw attention to the monochromatic (exact wavelength of) light that LED's put out, it can be hard to "look" at. I run normal fluorescent bulbs, in a separate lamp, at the same time to reduce the effect. The other bulbs add different frequency's of light, which is more comfortable for eyes. The manufacture of these LED lamps could reduce this problem by installing LED's of differing wavelengths in the same bulb. Also LED's flicker at 60hz or 120hx depending on the design, which is hard to see but can be noticed by quick eye movement, this made us feel a little ill. Again this is a normal LED problem. There is not much the manufacture can do about this except redesign or implement a driver circuit, which converts the power to DC, or a much faster flicker rate. Since LED lights are very intense if you happen to glance at them they leave streaks in your vision for a few seconds, it would probably be better to have a diffuser on them so you cannot see the individual LED's.

Shipment came early, well packed, nothing I have unpacked so far was damaged. Tubes are slightly brighter than 8’ fluorescents, but I ordered clear so difficult to compare. I have noticed it’s easier to read box labels etc. They do take an additional second to light, no big deal. There is a slight sag in the middle, I ordered the clips but a zap strap might work. You will likely need new tombstones; the pins on the LEDs are slightly shorter than an 8’ fluorescent so my older ones wouldn’t connect. Rewiring was pretty straightforward. I’ve only had these a week so can’t speak to longevity but ill update if things go sideways. Would definitely buy again.

I never do this. These are awesome. The bright ones on the right replaced 75W T8 fluorescent. Best part. NO BALLAST. WOO HOO!
