Can you use this for a rabbit

I wouldn't recommend this for a rabbit. I think a rabbit would escape or do itself some damage trying to break out. Plus it wouldn't be able to stand up straight on its hind legs.

Does anyone know if this cage would be useful to take on holiday? We are going to Devon for a week and want to bring them along?

Yes it definitely would be good to take away on holiday with you, it is easy to take apart and put together again and the base is easy to wipe. :)

How wide are the bars, could mice escape?

Mice would definitely escape, I'd say the gaps are about 1.5 cm. You can fit a cherry tomato through the gap.
