DURATECH Tube Bender, Pipe Bender, 3-IN-1, 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", for Copper, Brass, Aluminum and Thin Steel Pipes, Blue

This things works great for the cheap brake lines. I made a custom brake line for my 2006 scion xb. It had a couple tight bends and this product worked. Not sure how this bender would work for the thicker tubing that is typically used for brake lines. If I ever do it, I will update this review. Got me out of a pinch for cheap.

Works great must have for bending tubing

The title states 3/8" tubing, but the description also states 10mm. It does 3/8 just fine, but will NOT do 10mm which is what I bought it for. The channel is about 9.4mm which flattens the sides of the tubing. Since finding an affordable bender for 10mm tubing in the US is difficult, I decided to modify it. You could file it out with a rat tail flle, but I chose to use a 25/64" drill bit which is very close. I used the side of the drill bit in a cordless drill, working slowly and carefully, using a small piece of 10mm tubing as a gauge. Works perfectly. Makes smooth bends with no distortion of the tubing. In all other respects, the tubing bender is accurate, strong and easy to use. It's perfectly suited to occasional use. If I was a professional, I'd buy a better one, but that goes for almost any tool.

Quite handy. Let me speak about the complaints on this item. I believe what people say is true, However, the problem was operator error. Been an electrical contractor for 30 years, bending conduit is something we can do in our sleep. This product is a tool to bend small pipe and tubing. It does just that superbly. Now bending anything with a bender it tricky, and certainly there is a limit to how stiff of a tube can be. I will not discount the complaints but I will say if you use this tool properly for what it was designed for, you will be pleased.

Works as advertised on soft copper. Get it you won't regret it!

Doesn’t work great on 3/8 pipe, kind of hard to handle with larger pipe but works as it should

Did exactly what I needed it to do. It is strong enough and solid. I needed a 90 degree bend on a 3/8 copper pipe. It did that, no kinks.

Nice set of benders. It has a channel for 1/4”, 5/16 and 3/8. They’re all pretty much built on the same principle. These appear to be pretty well designed. The handles could be a bit longer, but they do the job. The degree of bends are dead on. If you know how to use a set of tubing benders, these are pretty nice to work with. I would buy this again.
