I bought 2 sets of these for my cookbook shelves and they are perfect. They are made well and have enough weight to them that I actually have them facing out (see pics) on the ends that show with no worries about the books sliding. The other two I have with the bottom under the books. Both ways work.

These are adorable! I have a storage rack in my dining area that holds a variety of items, including cookbooks. These book ends are decorative and hold the books well. I do wish they were just a bit heavier/ sturdier, but I am pleased with this purchase and would buy again.
