Would highly recommend if using under a fire pit. Extra protection is always recommended for surfaces under pit. We used on a concrete slab and it seems to help extinguish the stray embers. Always feel better to add any extra protection. Seems to work great.

Nice material, lays flat upon opening, easy to relocate. We use it with our bonfire solo stove and it works great. Protected our deck so you couldn't even tell we had a fire on it.

I use this on my back patio. It really helps to hold heat back from the wood getting to heated under your fire pit. It’s water, firer and water proof. It’s easy to fold and store away when not in use.

Love this mat. Fits my outdoor metal fire pit perfectly. I put it on my yard where I want to set the fire pit up and it protects then grass and anything else flammable from burning. I also sometimes use it on my deck when I light up the fire in my chiminea and it works just as well for that. It’s light weight enough to make moving it and resetting it wherever a breeze, but heavy enough that it doesn’t blow around easily or have the edges lift up and down when the wind is going. It’s a great product and I think it works well. Definitely makes me feel more safe when using my fire pits and protects my surfaces from scalding or burning. Recommend

It is a bit thinner than I expected but it works fine. Really wanted to just keep a protected layer on the ground which it does provide.

This mat fits nicely under a solo bonfire. It has enough room to work well even when using a heat deflector. I can't speak to the long term durability yet, but my initial impression is that it works well

This mat replaces the three bricks I was using underneath the fire pit to get it off of the wooden deck. But bricks didn’t help with any of the embers that would pop out and get on the deck. This mat is large and that it will help contain some of those embers and keep it from burning any spots in our deck. Very easy to set up and lightweight.
