Yes.. you have to plug it in to use it

Q: How should I cook chicken breast in it ?

Be sure to use water. Fill only between the two interior marks inside the hotpot. You can flavor to taste. Be sure the chicken breast is thawed. When I cook any kind of meat in the hotpot, I also place vegetables sliced and diced and potatoes also sliced and diced. I usually cook on the low setting for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Drain water if you wish or use for gravy.

Hi good day no the body does not heat up when cooking. It’s cool to the touch.
