Folgers1850 Black Gold Dark Roast Ground Coffee, 12 Ounce (Pack of 6)

This is my top favorite coffee in the Folgers lineup. I usually purchase their Black Silk but thought I would give this a try. Consistent quality and flavor and a good value for the price. Smooth dark roast flavor. The container is recyclable and is smaller in size so the coffee stays fresher. I highly recommend this roast.

The traditional foil-bag packaging does a great job of keeping coffee fresh until opened, I cannot say the same about this new "sustainable packaging", aka the "Box." We buy our coffee like many Amazonians do, by the 6 pack, and we re-order when the last 6-pack is about half gone, but that means we have coffee on hand in the Box for 3 to 9 weeks. At 3 weeks it is not bad, but by the time the last Box is open at 9 weeks it is stale, not so stale you notice, but when you open a newer Box right afterwards it is remarkable how much better it tastes.

I’m a regular Black SILK ‘r, but this 1850 GOLD aroma is OUT OF THIS WORLD and the flavor is close enough to chocolate that it brought tears of joy… This coffee is Golden BOLD Dark Roast at its Best! Nom nom

My husband loves this coffee…I love him so I buy it for him.

Being an old grocer, I remember when coffee came in a can, or it was instant! Folger's was one of the big three and has been my go to since as a kid, I sat at the table with my dad and drank coffee out of a percolator! Enough of history, this 1850 Black Gold is a great cup each and every morning! I may not catch all the tastes the fancy drinkers will find, but I do know, I like this coffee!
