Delectable addition to my recipe ingredients list. I love spicy food, but not overpowering spice. These pepper pastes make recipes pop! Put it in chili, taco meat mix, or a marinade for steaks or chicken wings, or whatever you like to make your taste buds sing.

Very handy for cooking. Easier to use than having soaking dried chili and pureeing. These work great in chili, alone or in combination depending on desired level of heat and smokiness. I now use the Guajillo in my Bloody Mary mix. Very tasty.

Great depth of flavor. Welcome addition to many dishes. Great as a base layer under dry seasonings or as a marinade.

Flavors are great, only wish it came in a larger quanity.

Excellent collection!! The fresh taste and range of heat (and timing of release!) of these three pepper pastes brought my homemade chili to an all time new record high of compliments!

These are decent alternatives to chili pods if you want something quick and easy but it does not have the same taste or consistency as chili pods.

I wanted a way to add various pepper flavors in cooking (such as homemade macaroni & cheese or rice dishes). This assortment from Herdez, a familiar brand in Mexican cooking condiments, has been perfect. Three different pepper types (various heat levels and LOTS of vivid flavor), in concentrated pastes (roughly like tomato paste in consistency), in squeeze bags with screw lids. They're holding up just fine, refrigerated, months after I opened them. TIP: Combine the Herdez chipotle paste with cream cheese (proportions to your taste) for an amazing sandwich spread. By itself it makes a very tasty simple sandwich, open-faced or closed.

I had purchased this trio before and the last time I purchased it, the three items came with a very close expiration date. I had to use them within a month otherwise the expiration date would pass. This time, I received two of the items already expired. One expired in March of this year, the other one in August of this year. The third item had an expiration date of 2027 so that was good, but why such difference?
