I was sceptical
Having had this a month or so now I can highly recommend it. Pros- no more smelly bin attracting vermin and maggots while you wait for the collections. It breaks the food down to about 20% of the original size. Powdery dust that can be tipped directly onto the soil in the gardenSmell: yes it can smell whilst it goes through its cycle but it’s no worse than a lingering cooking smell. Fortunately I’ve got mine in the covered seating area of my my garden so it gets turned on before bedtime and is finished when I wake up. No smell!

Works really well for dealing with food waste.
This works a treat! I decided against one of the more expensive brands of composter and gambled on this cheaper one and I'm so glad that I did.We fill it every 2/3 days with veg peelings and after running for around 5 hours we have some dry flaky 'stuff' that we throw on our outdoor potted plants. I wouldn't call it compost but it's better than sending our food waste to landfill, and we don't have a smelly kitchen bin any more.It is very quiet when running and you can't smell a thing. When completed it has a nice warm, earthy smell inside.

I'm going to vomit
I tried to make pre-compost from coffee grounds, breadcrumbs, and a small amount of fish. For the first hour, the unit exuded a smell of roasting breadcrumbs. I went away for a couple of hours. When I came back, the entire house was stinking of rotten fish. Every single room. The filter was new of course, and I removed the labels and followed all instructions. The rubber seals were present and intact. Despite that, the filter clearly didn't work. I ended up with nausea, a headache, and a running nose. The instruction manual claims fish is appropriate for the composter. It wasn't salmon, or smoked haddock, or pilchards or anything like that. It was cod. And it was a forkful. Less than a tablespoon. And it was only a few hours old at the time. I have ovened and air fried entire fillets of cod hundreds of times in my life. I've even burnt fish in the oven, and I've still never smelt something as horrible as what this supposedly filtered composter produced. The instruction manual claims that it has an ozone generator. The unit I received either doesn't have one or it's faulty. I had to use my industrial ozone generator to remove the fish stink, treating one room of the house at a time. The filter change light switched on immediately after the first and only time I used it, instead of in 6 months. The filter light reset function fails to work, so there's at least one electronic fault. If the instruction manual didn't lie about the ozone generator, there are at least two distinct electronic faults. After using it once, the filter stinks of rotten fish.

Good gadget to have in the kitchen
This kitchen gadget is brilliant. Easy to use you just pop the food in and set it going and you will be amazed with the end result. Cleaning is easy to just pop some water into the bucket and press the cleaning button all done for you.

Game-Changer for Kitchen Waste Management
The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased an automatic kitchen composter, and it has completely transformed the way I handle food waste. The compact design fits perfectly on my countertop, and it’s surprisingly quiet during operation. What I love most is its efficiency—it turns fruit peels, vegetable scraps, and even egg shells into usable compost in just a few hours. The process is virtually odorless, thanks to the built-in carbon filter. Emptying the bin is also hassle-free, and the end product is perfect for enriching my garden soil. The only downside is that the bin’s capacity might not be sufficient for larger households, but for a family of two or three, it’s ideal. It’s a bit of an investment upfront, but considering the environmental benefits and convenience, I’d say it’s worth every penny.Highly recommend this to anyone looking to reduce their waste and live more sustainably!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Small Gardens & Cold Weather Composting!
I have a small garden and always wanted to compost, but the cold weather made it impossible—everything would freeze and then start rotting as soon as it thawed. I also didn’t want to attract rodents and turn my place into the neighborhood’s rat hotspot. This electric composter has been a game-changer! I collect the pre-compost in a bucket and, when ready, mix it with leaves in my outdoor compost bin. No bad smells, no pests—just easy and efficient composting. Highly recommend it for anyone struggling with traditional composting!

Shame as would be great if filtered lasted.
Worked well 4 times and then says needs filter changing 4 users in. Can't find manula anywhere online. It also takes a lot of electricity to use it so very costly and heats up on surface so ideally need window open when using.More information needed

Easy, simple way to turn food waste into (pre)compost
I'm loving this machine so far. It's been in use for around a month. There have been no issues. It does what it claims to do and at a competitive price, given the competition. It takes its time (around 4 hours). I hope it lasts.
