Skip Expensive Brand That's Permanent, This One is Detachable Magnet, Great Texture and Matte Effect
I was wowed by how flawless and effortless was ESR's ipad pro 13 m4 screen protector, it's method of just pulling and done installation without any issues like dots, bubbles, or wiggly lines--that I was for sure going to purchase the paperlike magnetic screen attachment for my brand new ipad and apple pencil pro. And it did not disappoint. Great quality, does have a paperlike feel when using your apple pencil, and it installs in a quick minute. It performs well with my apple pencil pro and this is despite or inspite of having already also installed a previous ESR screen protector. No issues whatsover, and it does have also effortless removal/re-attach via magnets on top and bottom of the ipad screen. The package provides a transparent folder for, I presume, storing the magnetic screen when it is not attached to your ipad. It comes with everything like stickers for removing dust, cleaning etc, bubble removal wipes, etc. The alignment on the ipad is good but that's on how you manually align it. You can't really go wrong, just lift up and re-align if it is off. It also seems like it is easy to clean even when attached magnetically, but time will tell. My screen cover also continues to turn on and off when the cover on my case is closed and open. Using fingers on the paperlike screen also is normal, no issues. This is my 2nd paperlike screen protector, but my 1st one was the expensive one that is permanent. While that one does have great quality, I regret having it permanently on my old gen ipad. It works great with my older USB apple pencil but then I was stuck with a permanent dimmer screen because it was stuck on the ipad. You really don't have to buy that really expensive one to get the same texture like feel of the pencil/stylus. This one is adequate for me, for what I need, for creativity and for textured performance of my apple pencil pro. Also, I am glad this one is magnetic and removable, very convenient. Sometimes I want to use my ipad pro 13 inch m4 as a drawing canvas and sometimes I like the screen to have that OLED sheen for watching or browsing images. I don't know how long this particular magnetic screen will last since it will be bend a lot when removing and installing (or rather detaching routine in the long run)--but that's for future updates to post. For now, I am satisfied with any ESR products I've purchased for iphones, ipads, as well as for other tablets that I also have (non apple). I am also considering maybe purchasing the folio keyboard for my ipad since I am very pleased with ESR products.

Great screen protector at a good cost
I highly recommend this screen protector. I was looking for one that would allow me to more easily take notes using an Apple Pencil, yet would still be easily removable in case I needed to use the iPad without it. The screen protector fits very well, and seems to stay on well, also. It feels rather paper-like, and certainly helps to make hand writing easier by providing friction for the pencil. Setting it up was incredibly easy. The only qualm I have is that the screen protector makes it difficult to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access things like your open applications, the Home Screen, etc. The edge of the screen protector’s magnetic strip is very close to the bottom edge of the visible screen area, which means there is not much space for you to access that edge of the screen. This is a challenge even for me, and I have fairly small fingers. Just something to keep in mind. Also, it smudges fairly easily from one’s fingers, but that’s not difficult to wipe off. Otherwise, it is a definite improvement over writing on the bare screen, easy to install, a good price for what you get, and the fact that it is magnetic/removable is a great feature and hard to find in screen protectors. It is slim enough that it still allows the folio-style case on my iPad to close and function as normal. It even came with a screen cleaning kit, which helped to remove dust on the screen before installation. I am quite pleased with this product and glad I decided to try it.

Reusable and long lasting
I've had this screen protector on and off my M4 iPad Pro for about a year. It's not the most transparent paper-feeling screen protector I've ever used (I think the Paperlike brand product is clearer, but it can't be removed and replaced), but it's clear enough. I find that I don't like to remove it often, because the black magnetic strips attract dust, and even the slightest amount of dust prevents them from attaching to the iPad screen. However, I can attest that a little alcohol on a microfiber cloth does an excellent job of cleaning all the dust from the strips. While I'm at it, I clean the entire underside of the protector with the microfiber cloth. Cleaning all oily residue from the iPad screen itself is also super important. Once both the magnetic strips and screen are thoroughly cleaned, the protector sticks just like new. I've done this a handful of times and the strips haven't worn out yet.

Hands down the best!
Okay, I had my doubts about this, but let me just say: SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET THIS PROTECTOR! I draw on my iPad constantly, and I’ve installed more screen protectors than I can even count over the years, and this is a GODSEND. It was super easy to install in the sense that I didn’t struggle with getting it lined up properly, and the kit it came with to aid in the process was nice. The instructions were clear and written in a way that you could understand if you’re inexperienced. It has protected my screen from scratches and sticky toddler fingers! It was easy to clean off and I appreciate how thick it is, it’s definitely thicker than any other paper feel protector I’ve tried. When it comes to bubble removal, a tip for it is to use the squeegee as you install it, gently pushing as you place it, and that really helps eliminate them. But, if you’re not experienced in doing that, and you end up with a few bubbles that don’t seem to leave with each push, you can lift it a bit (something you can’t/shouldn’t do with regular protectors because of the glue) and get them out again. The durability has been great so far, I use an Apple Pencil 1st gen and barely changed tips before using this screen protector, and it hasn’t damaged the tip too much, it’s a smooth surface, not too grainy, and it really does feel like paper. The stroke marks can be brushed off somewhat easily if you get too many, and it overall really feels like an excellent quality screen. I am so happy with this magnetic style, and I will never go back to a traditional version of the paper feel after being pampered with the magnetic.

Works well!
It works well. Definitely has the grip of drawing paper (not as smooth as printer paper). It’s a very satisfying feel. The magnetic quality is good. Very strong. For note-taking and drawing, it’s excellent! But not something you want keep on if you want to swipe! It’s like super fine grain sandpaper to the finger tips. The iPad Pro works fine with it on. But I would prefer to remove it when not primarily writing or drawing. Thanks to the grainy texture, I don’t write with as much pressure as I would with an actual pencil to paper. I’m not concerned about my stylus pen tip all that much. But I can see it would wear down much faster than without the screen. I think it’s a choice to press hard while writing or not. So, unless you just can’t write with a lighter touch, this is a very nice product. And it does the job. I’ve only had it a few days. I don’t know how long it will last before the texture wears off. I guess you can consider if you’d spend about as much on paper and pencils if you used it as long, or wrote that much using actual pencils, drawing paper, or notebooks. I like that it has a storage sleeve. It definitely gets stored when writing and drawing are not my primary use. I use both an Apple Pen, and a generic stylus pen. Apple pen for full function and drawing. Knockoff for just note-taking. When drawing, I use the pressure sensitivity of my Apple Pen. So, that would wear down the tip much faster than just writing. That said, it’s very easy to get replacement tips for the Apple Pen. It will be trickier to get the right size replacement tips for my knockoff pens! But I’m okay with that. I like feeling relaxed gripping my pen while writing. I like the extra control from the texture. I recommend it. And would purchase again when my current one is worn out.

Best paper-like screen cover
This is one of the best paper-like screen covers. It is easy to put on and I love how it is intended to be removed when you are not using it. It also feels like real paper.

Mostly good but one annoyance gets in the way
Great value, and a good way to try out a paper-surface protector, but not perfect. Pro: - good surface, feels pretty good with the stock pencil nib. - removable is a big plus. Easy to apply and remove - touch and pencil performance is MOSTLY good Con: - the biggest issue is that, because this is a magnetic design, it stands away from the screen slightly. - the main problem with this is that, towards the very edges, touches don’t register as easily without a lot of pressure. Specifically, swiping in from the edge to change apps doesn’t work well if the screen protector is properly centered. You can improve the situation by placing the protector off center, moving the magnetic bezel away from the center of the screen, but that only works on one edge, and makes the other edge worse. - That also means it can pretty easily get dust under it - tiny particles don’t matter like they do on an adhesive screen protector, but larger bits get annoying. Overall, it’s quite close, but I think it could be perfect if they could change the manufacturing process so the protector lays right up against the screen on the very edges.

Exceeded Expectations, Better with Upgraded Tips. Also Great Customer Service
I’ve always wanted to see what all the hype was about with “paperlike” feel when writing on my iPad, but I’m one that always use a glass screen protector on all my devices, and I’m also not ready to give up a vibrant screen and have a matte screen full time. This checks all the boxes. 1) First and foremost, the feel is great! I don’t have any other products to compare against, but compared to a glass screen protector, this protector is a big improvement. I changed the tip and it is an even bigger improvement. I love writing on the screen now, and I am much more precise (although a large part is the new tip). Both the tip and the screen protector really changes the writing experience completely. 2) The ability to use this on top of a screen protector is great. I have not noticed any changes in responsiveness or any movement of the protector (it stays in place). Writing is as good as before. While the screen is now matte, the quality is still acceptable and does not seem too washed out or anything. 3) The reusability and ability to take it off when needed is great! I can take it off to watch a movie and put it back on to take notes. I do think that the magnet is only on one side of the iPad (the side without the pen). For the other side (right side), the edge has a tackiness that holds it in place (when the screen protector arrives, both edges come with a protective lining that is to be removed). Only time will tell how long the screen will stay in place as well as it does, but for now, it stays in place very well and without any gaps. 4) Finally, the customer service is great. I had a slight issue with the order (not the product), but customer service fixed it immediately. Overall, I highly recommend this product if you want to try the paperfeel but are not ready to give up a vibrant screen. This gives you the best of both and does not disappoint.
