The mechanism works well. I used it on a wooden clock so the long shaft was needed. It came with 2 sets of hands. The straight hands went on well but I couldn't get the pointy hour hand on the shaft.

I purchased this clock movement to replace one that finally quit. The kit included two types of hands, washers and nuts, and very clear instructions for putting it together. Took me all of 10 minutes and now my clock is back in its place, showing time in my preferred manner and as accurately as a digital.

I had to replace the clock mechanism in my old wall clock that stopped working. I chose this movement based on the smooth second hand movement, long shaft, and clock hand design. The mechanism fit perfectly and rises high enough for the hands to miss the decorative raised design of the clock. The smooth second hand movement is really nice and the clock keeps excellent time. Took me 15 minutes to replace the movement. I highly recommend purchasing this clock movement mechanism.
