Great read!
As someone who missed having the ability to go around and take a few months off to travel at whim it's nice to be able to read about just pulling up and following an idea. I was able to catch some of the EU shows when they came through but I had no idea that this group was doing the tour! If you are a fan of traveling, want to get an idea if doing the big Road trip is right for you, or just a fan of people going out and living a dream and having fun, then definitely check the book out. I'm sure this will be something these friends remember for the rest of their lives and it's pretty nice to be able to get a small glimpse into what that would be like.

Not so much a "pearl jam story" than it is a "life story"
For what it was, it was a good book. Not superbly written, but not unreadable either. For someone looking for a book about the band, or with a lot of correlations to the band, then this probably isn't for you. I think you could substitute any band into the story, and the book would be the same. Leung does a good job of relating his experiences to the different characters, and how they all interact during the story. Toward the end, the story just kind of got repetitive, which makes sense. Still, an enjoyable book.

A great story Jason
A great story Jason. Really enjoyed following your journey around the world. The concerts became secondary to the experiences - people and places.Thank you!

Essential for PJ fans
This book may not be literary genius, but it is a fantastic account of a fan's journey. It brings an enlightening view of the fans that surround this amazing band, and a reminder of why this group of us is as enamored as we are. Jason's story was an inspiration to me, to get out and see more shows, talk to more people, and take more chances.

Thrilling!
Thrilling! Jason lived my dream, to travel the world and see PJ on tour for a whole tour! Of course he quit his job to do it and had been saving, something I (quitting my job) would never do! Great account of him and other members of the Jamily!

Nice idea, but terribly written
I was really looking forward to this book, but sadly it has failed to live up to expectations. So much so, that I've pretty much given up on it half way through. I'm bored. The premise of the book is great and I'm sure that Jason and all of the people he met on his adventure had an amazing time. However, it's very repetitive and often comes across as one long, drunken frat party. OK, so there a few turns of event to puncture the deja vu, but it all just stumbles along. There's no humour to bring it to life or any real sense of narrative to make it interesting for readers who weren't actually part of the group of people who took part. All of this may have been forgivable, but for one crucial issue. This book is SO badly written. It has all the hallmarks of a swiftly scribbled diary that has been reproduced without a single minute of time spent re-reading or editing it. The style of writing is all over the place, with some shocking use of grammar that I found very distracting from the off. He constantly mixes tenses, sometimes in the same sentence, and has a terrible habit of using redundancies like "return back" time after time. At one point he even refers to Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament as their "base player" (sic)! And when the love interest comes along... oh dear, it gets toe-curlingly bad!To be honest, Jason Leung isn't entirely to blame. He's a guy who took an exciting trip, wanted to tell that story and simply wrote what he experienced. However, the publishers should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to be released as it is. It's seems like an editor's pen hasn't been anywhere near it.This book could have been so much tighter and more exciting, but as it stands, it's little more than a blog with a cover on it. All I can say is, I'm glad I only paid the Kindle price! For dedication to the fantastic music of Pearl Jam, five stars! For this book... sadly just two.

Thoroughly recommended - Not only is this an insight into Pearl ...
Thoroughly recommended - Not only is this an insight into Pearl jam and a tour schedule but, and most importantly, of friendships, life on the road, and the personal Journey of Jason.I want to read it again as I found myself 'there in the moment' on many occasions.I expected this to help me in my Pearl jam music discovery but it was so much more.Do not hesitate, if you've got this far, take the plunge, it will be so rewarding. The first 5 star review of a book I have given in a long time.

Really, really awesome. If you like or love Pearl Jam, you NEED to read this.
Cards on the table - I am a massive Pearl Jam fan. I bought this book because being UK based, I get to see this band all too rarely and have dreamed about the idea of multiple shows, so to hear about some guys doing a whole tour seemed like great fun.I didn't know much more than that basic premise, but as I got into the book, realised it was more than just fans in a van and a band they loved. It's an international adventure and human story, with these young guys discovering just how friendly the world is when you approach it the right way.Starting across Canada, the book does represent a real road trip, which as everyone knows, is kinda awkward and a bit stilted. But after a few stops and seat swaps, you settle right in. After a slow start, the book does too, finding a real rhythmn as the guys discover the real family that is the Pearl Jam support around the world, and start having some real fun.Things really kick in across the US, which is definitely the best section of the book. While Europe and Oz are fun and different, it's the life in the van that really makes this story.Get some PJ tunes on while you watch it, and don't miss the Touring Van website for videos and stories of the endless characters you encounter throughout Jason Leung's adventures, because it's such a great tale you will be wanting to know what happened next.An absolutely unmissable treat for anyone who loves Pearl Jam, or even if you have ever loved any band so much you wanted to follow them around the world. The author did just that, and does an incredible job taking us with him. Brilliant stuff.

A good Rock and Roll read!!
Yeah, maybe Jason's grammar is poor at times, repetitive? Yes!But who cares? This is Rock and Roll..not Shakespeare!I'm a fan of Pearl Jam,and came across the book whilst searching for others. What a great story!!Living the dream..I couldn't wait to start watching the DVD,none of em looked like i imagined they would do.So.what an amazing adventure, one that most of us could only dream of.Good luck and best wishes to everyone that made it such a fab read.
