Beautiful, sturdy, easy to use, nice extras
Fantastic puzzle! My cryptex came with a gorgeous padded box, a little screw driver, extra screws, a gift bag, and a nice card you can use when gifting. I didn't buy this as a gift for anyone but if you are you won't need anything else! The cylinder sizing is as described and has a nice heft, all of the rings turn smoothly and it is very easy to get the code aligned to open it.It was very easy to reset the code, but it does take a few minutes and some concentration. None of the instructions I got were in English, but the images were easy enough to follow.The LOTR rings are a little weird thematically but I won't complain about a nerdy extra. They were surprisingly nice!

Great gift
My husband lived his gift, it was heavy so he was very curious. Great value for price, it was a puzzle which he loved figuring out, came with instructions so he was able to figure out combination, it was about the length of a ruler but large enough to be a good puzzle and he can reset it so others can't open it. It took him a bit to figure out, the rings are beautiful and there was a gold ring and a silver ring and both had cool writing like the one off Lord of the Rings. So beautiful. It can be used to store other things, nice to be able to reuse- super functional.

Great for what it made for
I love the weight of this and it does a really good job of allowing you to gift give with a twist. (no pun intended). Overall the cyrptex is very nice. It is meant to be a fun way to give a gift. You obviously can't just put anything in it but you can easily put paper (which may tell the receiver what the gift is) inside it or even paper money if you wanted. I have purchased several of these over the past few years and it is always a hit to see the receiver try to figure out the code in order to receive their gift!

Used this. for an Easter Treasure Hunt. The kids loved it. Perfect for hiding the treasure key. Easy to change the letters to create a secret word.
