Great camera, poor Customer Service.
Great camera. Wish the installation directions were better. Thankfully YouTube helps. Mount is wear, went with a separate rear view mount. Their customer service however is garbage.

Upgraded from 900X Plus
I upgraded from the DR900X-Plus and noticed it has improved daylight clarity and better night sensing.

app is terrible and requires location access
Returned this camera without even bothering to install as the appnis so bad. You can’t even use it without first enabling location access and creating an account.Don’t give this company all your data just to be able to access your dashcam.

Best dashcam
This Blackvue dashcam is amazing! The video quality is crystal clear, even at night. It's super easy to use and the app is really convenient for viewing and downloading footage. I feel so much safer knowing I have this in my car. Now there is a cloud subscription which is handy, but you don't need it to view the files from your camera. Just connect to it via Wi-Fi and you can view the videos. Highly recommend!

Great Quality, iffy app & motion detection
The recordings themselves look very good, night and day. I have had no issues with data corruption/missing content. The problem though is the app is very poor, it disconnects often and fails to update frequently.Motion detection gets triggered too often, telling me there was a crash detected even though it was me just shutting my door.Overall I'd purchase it for the video quality, just get a micro sd card and only use the app to update the camera.

High quality with great 4K UHD resolution, easy operation to provide dependable records when needed.
The 4K UHD Cloud Dashcam by BlackVue, is a small, effective and useful way to record everything that happens on your journey just in case, while providing Wi-Fi, GPS and an easy to use app. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – This one has a great build quality overall, with a strong feel to it. This is definitely one of the nicest ones I’ve seen, leading me to believe it should hold up very well over time, while doing its job properly.II. Installation – The install was fairly easy for a dashcam, with everything included that’s needed. The longest part is the wire tucking to make it look neat.III. Performance – It works very good at recording the needed videos for your records, with an included 64G memory card and Wi-Fi to cloud to back them up. There’s a surprising amount of technology in this tool, that can be helpful. The parking assistant and 4K UHD (3840X2160) at 30FPS provides clear usable video. The night vision works well and automatically engages when it senses dark conditions. The operation is super easy with basic and effective controls. This one also has a higher quality, semi sleek look for this kind of thing, reducing the unenviable intrusiveness of a mounted dashcam. Only negatives to me on this one is the lack of a 2nd rear facing camera that others offer.Overall, this is a fantastic version of an idea that shouldn’t be in question whether you need it or not. This is a high quality, very effective tool to provide me with evidence to prove the real story of what happened that day, should I choose to use the recordings on my behalf. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Very good 4k image and highly configurable
This dashcam from BlackVue, the 1 channel DR970X Plus with a 64GB memory card, is my first dashcam and I'm quite impressed with it. The camera is fairly small and its mounting kit is pretty easy to use, angle adjust with, and even remove/reinstall the camera in the bracket. The double-sided adhesive will grip the windshield very securely, but I found it easy to use a command adhesive strip to temporarily install the mount in a few different positions to balance both the camera's view and accessibility of buttons/status lights. You are provided with two types of power cables - one for the cigarette lighter and another designed to permanently install connected to both constant and switched power. I'm still early enough in the testing phase that I use the cigarette lighter as a power source, but it's a switched power source in my Toyota Corolla which means no parking surveillance. The camera is easy to setup in WIFI mode with the app we're directed to install. It did take a bit of poking around to learn how to play with settings but the paper manual also delves into the app's settings too. The cloud connection is my next area of exploration, after I'm happy with the videos I'm recording. The 4k image at full 60MBit quality is very nice in daylight. I was impressed with the legibility of license plates. The downside is that each minute is recording around 0.4 GB at the highest quality so the 64GB memory card only records 2-3 hours before it starts overwriting. The video quality settings can be lowered to enable the 64GB card to record over half a day of files, so some experimentation with video quality is worth doing. Oddly, the BlackVue software seems to limit the time slices to 1 minute each and there is no adjustment possible. The options for connectivity via active hotspots, home WIFI network, and add-on LTE modems are extensive. I especially like that I can add on a 2nd channel/2K rear camera later if I decide it's warranted and worth running the video cable. For now, I'm still getting comfortable with the single camera mode and learning about the system.
