Compatibility varies
At first I was skeptical about this gadget as most of Chinese products are garbage. But this thing is actually working very well on my 2023 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack system. I don’t use Apple CarPlay, instead I connect this box to my phone’s hot spot internet connection and use the android system. I use Google maps, view Netflix, YouTube videos, and YouTube music. It works very well, as long as the internet connection is good, no issues at all. However, it did not work on my Ram’s truck which has an aftermarket Sony XAV-AX8000 system, tje CarPlay feature does not recognize it.

Waste of money, unreliable
I got the device, first it has Disney+ but it ask you to update, and then say not compatible, same with hulu, so basically you can’t do anything but netflx.I tried youtube, quality is good, however it crashed 7 times and every time I had to try to find where it crashed in 40 minutes video, I like the Idea, but software is behind big time, and there is no “back” botton, you have to use this floating dot, and pick back from it, RETURN PILE

Car Video streaming device
This thing works incredible, bought it for a lil trip. Expensive on here, found them for a better price on another platform. But I highly recommend.

Huge upgrade to your CarPlay interface.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for a very long road trip with kids and am very pleased with the result. It turns your wired CarPlay into an Android 13 interface. Play videos, surf the web, use widgets, all the things you can’t have through normal CarPlay or Android auto.I verified that it is a Snapdragon 665 that will run at 2.4ghz, and through about 20 hours of use it’s been flawless. Android 13 is very good on the CarPlay screen. Switching between apps is fast, it shows 8gb of RAM and 128gb onboard storage with an SD slot for extra.Streaming video and Spotify get the full Android apps which is probably the reason most people will buy this. It also has a sim slot that I didn’t get to test since I let it tether to my phone. You can also drop out to native CarPlay or Android auto and it will run those wirelessly. I didn’t expect this, but the snapdragon cpu is SO MUCH faster than other (cheap) wireless CarPlay adapters I’ve used that it changes wireless CarPlay. No crashes, no noticeable delay on screen or calls, after using a lot of wireless CarPlay adapters I accidentally found the best one.Really nothing to change here. I had a long road trip and this kept my kids entertained the whole time with streaming videos and games, I absolutely recommend it.

Swing and a miss. Kind of.
I'd like to start by saying that I found that the positive reviews are basically true. But in my experience, there are some cons that outweigh the plusses and I'll focus on them in this review.I tried really hard to like the Magic Box 5.0. Really I did. It is such a great idea.... the ability to run full Android on your car infotainment screen and the ability to run any app. In fact, it does a lot of things very well. But in the end the devil is in the details. Especially for $229Probably the biggest disappointment for me is the apparent inability to zoom Google Maps by pinch zoom.... or any other method, for that matter. I can sometimes zoom in by double tapping the screen (not sure if this is intentional). But once zoomed in, I found no way to zoom back out. When you tap the screen you occasionally get a blue icon with two inward facing arrows that could be an indication of a zoom feature but I never got Maps to zoom out no matter what I tried. In Google Maps it can be difficult to dismiss the boxes that pop up on the left of the Maps screen because the left arrow to dismiss gets covered by that blue icon, making it impossible to tap the left arrow. Also, often Maps does not start up with the current location centered, making it necessary to tap the "recenter" icon.Although I have not timed it, I find boot time to be excessive. I am out of the driveway, driveway door closed and driving out of the sub before the thing finishes booting. And when it does finish, it forces the infotainment screen to display it regardless of what you were doing prior. That's fine if you wanted to use it, but not so fine if you were doing something else.I could not figure out how to initiate split screen. The first couple times, I set two apps for the split screen display and while it remembered them, I could never figure out how to DISPLAY them. Then the next day, it immediately forgot the apps as soon as I hit OK and the re-entered the split screen configuration display.I found that tapping on the floating button and home icon (required to get back to the home screen) to be distracting when trying to hit the small targets while driving.Since there is essentially zero documentation for this device all I could do was search the 'net and experiment. I mostly came up empty. Some of these issues may be operator error, but without some sort of documentation......The bottom line for me was that I found using Google Maps to be WAY too fiddly and tap intensive to be safely used while driving. Unless I can address most of these issues I will be returning it. I will be sorry to see it go, but IMO, it just isn't quite ready for prime time if you try to use it while in motion.

Great addition to the vehicle
This is a great way to add streaming feature to your car. Works easily with the car play function. Only complaint is the slow boot up time.

I tried two and neither worked. UPDATE: Great product support from manufacturer
I have a 2019 Ford F-150 with Sync 3 and MMB 5.0 would not set up. So I returned the first one and had the same results with the second one. Amazon tech said I needed to factory reset my Sync 3 radio and I did that, it takes for ever, and that did not help.UPDATE . . . Looking at other manufacturers, Carlinkit, the Ford F-150, 2017-2022, is incompatable using the same product specifications. Bummer.UPDATE #2 - The manufacturer reached out to me with a request to help and they are sending a new one with different installation instructions at no charge. Very rare now days and very appreciated by me. Even if the product and support does not work for me, the fact that the manufacturer went to this length rates a 5 from me.
