Easy to use- recommended
Kit arrived undamaged. It was easy to follow instructions but be careful when you spit into the tube as it doesn’t take as much as you’d think to fill up to line. It’s easily boxed and labelled to return in post. Be advised, it goes to Ireland ( where all DNA kits go) and it can take up to 6 weeks to get the results.Me & my sister were taken aback that there are 100% Jewish in our family in US with distant family and my sister has 11% Jewish on her DNA profile that we had no idea about.I anticipate similar findings but I just got to wait and see..I’m awaiting my results but the kit was thorough, easy to understand, easy to use and GVFM as got it in Mother’s Day discount.Recommended..

Really good value for money
This is the third one purchased, I bought this for myself and it is very in-depth and bought 2 for Christmas as presents. Didnt enjoy the saliva but after it was done sent it away, I was pleased with what came back, learnt more about where my family roots are. Would have liked to know how to read the Family tree better, left me wanting more which if you go into you can purchase.Would buy again.

Wish these DNA test could be cheaper
I usually buy my DNA test kits from Ancestry but they take for ever to come. I got this next day delivery.I was worried in ordering a kit as heard some bad reviews on people’s DNA kits already been registered and see that this is the actual Ancestry seller so felt comfortable purchasing from them.I received my test kit and activated it with no problems. Sent it off and Ancestry have received it and waiting on the results now. This is a photo from another test kit I had done.Found out my daughter has not taken much of my Greek heritage from me and her DNA has come from more of her father’s side.If you are going to do this test please note it can unfold secrets in your family as I discovered my uncle had an affair and there was another child involved after 63 years. He is a lovely guy and a shame it’s taken so long to find out about him.If the kit offers the traits, I purchased this on my very first test and it was a load of rubbish and was a waste of money so all the other kits I have purchased I have not had the traits included.Good luck with you researching!

Don't believe the do every sample
I bought this a bit of a giggle for my birthday. I had done extensive research for years into forefathers and mothers. With 7 years of higher education behind me I do things correct by checking and rechecking sources. Also, my mother had first-hand knowledge of her relatives going back several generations ( to mid19th C) I have a variety of documentation. However, I would like to find further back because that's where it gets more difficult. I very much doubt my Grandfather was what what they said he was. Why would my great grandparents, parents come over to Glasgow and say she was born in the poorhouse why would they say that if she was born elsewhere. Why would they? Ancestry say my Grandfather was nearly 100% from else where. The documentation says not. And that put a question mark on my son's DNA sample analysis. I phoned Ancestry. They sent my some paper. Not a fully credited paper or from several reliable sources. My grandfather and mother were Christain Socialists, her mother was what would be called a feminists, who like a drink. They wer all political with a small 'p'. This background would have been mentioned and my grandparents would not have endorsed lies.I suggested there had been possible mistakes. This they dismissed. I refute their findings. Also I wanted to find out further back. So the whole exercise has been very disapointing, full of major errors based of assumptions of my home area. Most people go on Ancestry and just go along with what other have falsely discovered. e.g. My spinster great aunt was said to be married and lived in London. I knew her; she was a carer for 2 severely disabled siblings in Glasgow. This while hold down a job.If you are lazy and do not want to know the real truth Ancestry may be useful. Otherwise the old ways just basic research. That takes time and money.
