The Awakening
This author starts out slow but the magic is saved for the last half of the book. The poems follow her process of spiritual awakening and her experiences with kundalini. Divine spiritual union is a mix of profound bliss and moments of feeling awful at best. Walters writes, "you are nothing but materials for burning."This is a quick read. However, take your time with the poems, make sure you understand the meaning of union, bliss, nectar, ecstatic, etc. The poems are simple in the best way and carry deep profound meaning and direct experience of what it means to be united with the Beloved.

Ecstatic devotional poetry from our own culture
What more can we say, than that she joins the lineage of Teresa of Avila, Mirabai, John of the Cross and Lal Ded:"ALMOST DAWNAlmost dawnOnce again, you slipped inwhile I was sleeping, now you are demanding more. What else can I give you?My heart was the first to go,I fainted and fell down dumb. Each time you trembled through me,you with no body,no name,a flame lit where I stood, until I became a shadow,a wraith consumed in fire.Do you want these ashes?Comehold out your hand.We are mingled heretogetheralways."

A stirring deep within...
Ley lines are the spiritual life force that travel through the earth connecting sacred sites from ancient times to the present. Dorothy Walters' poems as collected in this volume transmit the spiritual life force of the Divine from within the ineffable reaches of her soul out into the world where its power changes the reader. It is a mystery to me how Dorothy can give words to the indescribable working of Spirit, but she does. And her words speak in a language understandable to all, whatever their religious tradition or spiritual path. For the Divine as encountered by Dorothy is not reduced to one form of Being, it embraces all, believers and non-believers alike. When I read Dorothy's poems in "The Ley Lines of the Soul" they set up a stirring deep within, a resonance that reminds me of moments when Life or Energy or Oneness - whatever I was calling it at the time - played my soul strings like a harp. These stirrings connect me with all who seek and the few who find the Source from which we come. Dorothy Walters personal experiences of ecstasy and ascension that gave rise to these poems travel the ley lines that connect us to everything that IS. Reading "The Ley Lines of the Soul: Poems of Ecstasy and Ascension" is a gift to your Self.

Illuminating the mystics path to true Knowing
There's an ancient Zen saying, "don't confuse the finger for the moon." Words and symbols point to what lies beyond them, the unspeakable silence and the glorious becoming of all that is. But with poetry as luminous and embracing as Dorothy Walter's works, we can be forgiven for lingering on the finger and appreciating it's delicacy and power. In this, her latest volume of poetry, she unfolds the mysteries of the divine feminine, the great Goddess who delights in creating all forms, as well as delighting in dissolving all forms into the fathomless abyss of dark silence, which to even approach overwhelms one with ecstasy. Dorothy's words are like radiant sparks emerging from that darkness, birthed by the womb of the universe Herself, and always pointing back to their Source. True seekers and lovers of the Divine from all traditions will delight in what issues forth through Dorothy's inspired pen. That Dorothy can give expression to these divine gifts is a testament to her many, many years of being worked on by the hands of the Divine. I deeply appreciate what she pours forth for all of us to imbibe.Lawrence Edwards, PhD, author Kali's Bazaar , The Soul's Journey: Guidance from the Divine Within
