Hanafuda-Hanafuda (japon importation)

These Hanafuda cards are of a thicker stock and smaller size than European playing cards; this is because they are not a Bridge deck, nor a Poker deck. They are a Hanafuda deck, and Hanafuda cards are thicker and smaller than standard decks of European/Western cards. The designs are graceful, elegant and distinctive, and the suits are as easy to tell apart as can be expected for a Hanafuda deck. The instructions are in Japanese, since the product is being shipped from Japan, but English-language guides on how to play Koi-Koi and other Hanafuda games are easily available online, and the excellent price is a fair trade-off for not having a printed set of English instructions.Highly recommended for anyone who either already knows how to play with Hanafuda cards, or is interested in learning and has a source from which to learn.

Much smaller than anticipated, but still very nice. Bought as a gift and they were very pleased with them.

This was quite the surprise. I have played Hanafuda before but I never realised how small this deck would be! Because of this it has been brilliant as a travel pack and would definitely recommend anyone to pick up a pack. Not only that but the thickness and quality of the cards are just right.These took a couple weeks to arrive, but how they managed free delivery on this item directly from Japan bewilders me.Because these came directly from Japan, the instructions will be in Japanese only so please keep this in mind. Thankfully I've played Hanafuda Koi-Koi so I already knew what to do, but for those that don't, check out some YouTube videos on Hanafuda Koi-Koi (not the Hawaiian version - unless you want to play with those rules).

I bought this card set for a present and was a bit disappointed with the size of the cards for the price. I paid £12.55 including postage and the cards are 2" by 1", not the best value game ever but its lots of fun

After learning to play the game with a cousin of mine on the iPhone, we decided to grab an actual hanafuda deck to play Koi Koi. Whilst the illustrations are delightfully accurate, the card size and quality is somewhat lacking. The deck is printed on a semi-gloss thick stock card and the playing card size feels like it should be labelled "pocket sized" (though without the pocket size as the thickness of the cards makes it impossible to fit the entire deck in your pocket). We will definitely be enjoying the game, but perhaps you should look for larger cards elsewhere as I am also unsure that the cards will be very durable, the stock being akin to that of a children's book that's labelled "chewable".

This was brought as a gift. It arrived within the time stated for delivery and well packaged to protect the item. The cards are very cute with vibrant colours and style as pictured. There were no English instructions, but they were easy to find online. I love this game card set.

The right size, the right feel but after you play 2-3 games the black color of the back of the card starts to fade and color the images of the cards.
