Was able to kill two rats within one week of purchasing this. Very easy to bait with peanut butter using the screw cap that is designed into this trap. Very easy to rebait and clean the unit. Better than the electronic rat trap that I have been using. Once the rats are killed, dumping the dead rat is as easy as resetting the trap. A no-touch solution. Much better than your standard rat trap and is much easier and safer to set. Highly recommended as an alternative solution to using a standard or electronic rat trap.

This trap works great for mice and chipmunks!! I've been using it off and on for about a year (I got it last summer). We had some construction happen last year and mice were all over my sheds. Not any more. We also began to get chipmunks who did up your flowers and garden last year. This year they had multiplied and were becoming a problem. So far we've caught about 6 chipmunks and the problems seem to be resolved. Works great! There's a hole in the bottom where a little piece comes out to fill with cheese or peanut butter. The locking mechanism works wonderful! No more snapped fingers setting a trap. To clean out it opens up and you can spray with the hose. To clear a rodent you just push the handle and it's released into a bag to pitch. Best trap since the original traps!

When you live in a rural area, you expect the standard cadre of rodents, chipmunks, squirrels, rats, and mice. However, when you have dozens of chipmunks burrowing under the foundation of your house, something has to be done. I've tried poisons, gasses, and other traps to zero success. THIS one WORKS!I originally baited it (as suggested in the video) with peanut butter... nothing happened.Then I baited it with chicken scratch (the bait bail in the trap was so small that I thought it was a waste of time) and BINGO, one chipmunk each day in every trap! Each trap, every day! I’ve had a rat problem here in San Diego for the past several months. It’s one thing when they’re in the yard, but it’s a whole another thing when they’re start getting into my car and leaving urine and feces on the engine cover. Next will be damage to the hoses which I do not need on any level.I purchased these rat traps as a pack of 4 and put 2 out at a time. They’re incredibly easily to use. Unscrew the bottom cork, pop some peanut butter in it, screw it back in, and simply pull the lid closed which is where the trap is activated. I set them along my fence where the rats like to run, and within 24 hours I caught 2. Set up the next two traps two days later, and I got the same exact result. When properly set up, these things make the death instead and humane which matters to me because I do love animals. I don’t want them to suffer. I couldn’t recommend these traps more as they are very safe against other animals getting into them, there’s no need to poison them which would affect other predators if they ate the poisoned rat, and they’re super easy to use.Good luck with your rodent problem.

There really is a better mouse trap!This thing works. Seams well built, time will tell.Less than 18 hours - 2 chipmunks (cute rats) and a mouse. Clean, effective kill and easy removal.I use shelled peanuts rather than peanut butter (less ants). Put a couple in the bait cup and a few at the entrances. Easy to set and place without the trap snapping. No more leg or tail snaps. Clean neck kill every time.

I have a LOT of traps, as I am in a constant battle against critters eating my garden and fruit trees. I have been using these traps for about two weeks. I have not been able to catch any rats with them, which was my primary purpose for buying them. However, I have caught three mice.I bought these traps because the regular rat traps, which are open on top, occasionally catch a bird, and since I don't like killing birds, I am looking for alternatives. However, the rats in my yard are quite big, and I think they cannot fit into the covered part so easily. I have caught several rats with a Hav-a-hart trap that is right next to this trap during the time it was set up, so I know there are rats nearby and how big they are.The trap does an ok job at catching mice, but it is a bit too big for mice. So far, all the mice have been caught with their noses sticking out of one side and their tail sticking out of the other. They are dead when I find them, but I worry that they might be suffering. Anyway, I am giving three stars because it is a decent mouse trap, but if you have large rats, don't expect them to squeeze into this trap.

I love this product. It is so easy to use. I open the box pulled out. The two traps turned them over and tipped the little piece out to put a little bit of peanut butter in and put them back in place. I said the traps and I set them out in places where I saw the chipmunks coming from and left them. I did this late afternoon and within an hour and a half. I had two chipmunks. So easy to reset and you don’t have to touch the chipmunk. I could easily push down on the release and let it drop into a baggie to seal and put in my trash. Set it again put it back out to more the next day another one the next day. They work well.
