Just like the signature lasts that give our footwear its form during the construction process, shoe trees are essential to maintaining a shoe's shape over time and preventing bending and cracking in the uppers. Our styles are made in Wisconsin using sustainably harvested, American hardwood cedar, a material that helps to absorb odors and harmful moisture. This design also features an adjustable split-toe that makes it an especially good fit for extra wide or narrow feet. Keep your loafers, brogues or wing tips smooth and odor free with these classic shoe trees from Allen Edmonds. Made from aromatic cedar, the two part construction and adjustable width split toe design helps to retain the shape of your shoes. Recommended by most fine shoe manufacturers. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Founded in 1922, Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corporation manufactures premium men's footwear, accessories, and cedar products using the philosophy of quality, service and integrity. Taking shoemaking to the level of an art form, each pair of Allen-Edmonds shoes are carefully crafted by hand in a process that includes 212 separate production steps. No detail is too small, because supreme quality is the cornerstone of the Allen-Edmonds name. See more

Nice trees
I finally bought some nice shoes and have used these in them since day one to help maintain their shape. Work great.

Great value for the money
Bought XL size for shoe size 12D and fits perfectly. Spring keeps the shoe lightly taut, and the cedar smells great. Made in USA.

Glad I could find a product made in the USA. That was one reason I bought these.
These smell very fragrant and keep shoes in great form. They will help keep my shoes or yours free from deep wrinkles. I wouldn't have any regrets in recommending Allen Edmond's Cedar Shoe Tree to anyone looking for a Made in USA product.

A pretty good value
A very good price point in comparison to others. Of the 2 sets I ordered one set had the name plates so far askew it was pathetic. They will do their job fine but sheesh it makes it look like garbage.

Who makes a video for shoe trees??
The media could not be loaded. YOU: Really, you made a video?ME: I did.YOU: Why?ME: Because I can.Shoe trees are simple. They keep the form of your shoe, suck up damaging moisture, and leave a nice smell. The invention has not changed much over the years.PROS: Strong cedar smell and a solid design. Great price and has Prime shipping.CONS: None unless you wait too long and mistreat your shoes! Why spend a hundred (or more) dollars on nice shoes then slack on upkeep?I needed a few more shoe trees because I have purchased more shoes and my only shoe tree (with a cameo appearance in the video) had lost its smell. These shoe trees are notable because the ends have a hook instead of a string and they have the split toe design. I am indifferent with the hook. The split toe is nice because the shoe trees can be inserted into a variety of shoes. I have a pair of loafers that are shorter but wider than the shoes in the video and this shoe tree fits fine (a little better than my older split toe shoe tree).Initially, I picked up two sets. I was pleased enough that I ordered another two pairs.UPDATE 11/2013: Hmmm...you wonder, how does that nice cedar wood smell after six months in your shoes? There is still a faint cedar smell (nowhere near as strong as when they arrived but it's still there). I rotate between wearing two main pairs of dress shoes and another less formal pair (worn no more than once a week). A combination of these shoe trees, regular shining, and the rotation has kept my shoes in pretty nice condition. I'm not easy on my shoes---I walk between 30-60 minutes each day between work and home (I'm in a walkable urban area) and I have put new soles on all 3 pairs of shoes. At the start of this year, I thought I would need several new pairs of shoes. I tend to think these shoe trees saved my dress shoes by returning their form, removing some creases, and extending their lifetimes. Maybe it's just because I started taking better care of the shoes. Either way, don't need to buy new ones too soon so I'm happy!UPDATE 1/2013: I have been meaning to try out the sanding trick and update this post (thanks to the commenters!). Sanding works a little. The smell is (faintly) better but it is not nearly as strong as when the shoe trees first arrived. Perhaps the products had a cedar oil sprinkled on them initially. One set of them still smell better (without being sanded) than the others (that have been sanded) so it could also be hit or miss on the item. Regardless, the shoe trees are serving their main purpose of absorbing moisture and maintaining the form of the shoes to reduce wrinkles. For that, I remain happy!

Works fine, but I have seen better cedar
Cedar they use has a lot of white wood in it, which I believe is a little inferior to the red or mostly-red wood. Function is fine, but we use cedar for a reason in this application. This is not a showstopper, but you notice it.
