This is a really good multi-function welder
I have a 250-amp wire feed. I saw a youtube video of this machine, did a little more research and ordered this online. It works just like it says it will. I leave flux core wire setup in it because I have the other 250 amp wire feed welder and have found flux core to be a good alternative to using gas shield. I also leave the plasma torch setup, it is the handiest tool when compared to oxy-acetylene, cut off wheels, or a hacksaw.I have tried the stick rod a few times and it works very well, it has settings to help strike an arc. I should try ith mig welder with the pulse or spray setting and see how that works. This is a really good little machine I would buy it again if this one broke down, but isn't it a 5 year warranty? Hope I don't have to find out.

Very good for the money
Review of the Simder 4050 MINI: This could be a great little welder or a bad welder, depending on your expectations. If you are looking for a Flux cored arc welding (FCAW) machine, then it will do well. If you need a MIG welder, look elsewhere, but don't expect to find a good one at this price level. This 4050 MINI can weld 1/8'' mild steel with E71TGS.030-Diameter wire and 120V and 3/16" with E71TGS .035 wire and 220V. An experienced welder, probably could weld 1/4" mild steel with E71T-11 035" (multiple pass welding). This welder can also be used for ARC welding, it has the same limitation as FCAW (only goes up to 140 Amp).Skill Level: BeginnerBuild quality: does not look cheap, one step above the ones selling at lower price (for example, the SSIMDER 140A MIG selling for 30% less the 4050 MINI) but not the same build quality as the step-up welders priced around 3 times higher.Ground Cable: low quality and short. Cables are expensive so OK for the price. I replaced the clamp for around $7 at my local tool store. I am not going to expend money on a grounding cable. I have a good quality jump cable (two 6-gauge cooper cables in parallel) that I am going to clamp to the short ground cable when I need to extend it.Welding gun: Comes with only one 8.mm tip installed (no spares or 0,9 mm tip included)The cable is a little short but longer that the grounding cable. Place it on a small welding cart or table and it should be fine. The gun comes with a MIG metallic nozzle. Replace it with a Gasless Flux Core Nozzle like the Vulcan that I got from my local tool store. I bought a kit from Amazon. It comes with a couple of threaded metallic gas diffusers and Gasless Flux Core Nozzles. Replace both parts. The gas diffuser that comes with the welder seems of better quality so I switched to the Vulcan slip-on nozzle.Power: you need a dedicated 120V 20 Amp circuit or better a 220V 20 Amp circuit. I also got a 25-foot 10 Gauge extension cord because I work outside. For most city dwellers, I don’t recommend doing this in your garage.User’s Manual: Poor. Not much info there.Settings chart: not available from manufacturer. Search for “HF Titanium Unlimited 200 settings chart”. Use the Flux Cored raw as a starting point. Divide de Wire Speed by 2 and use it to set the AMPS in your 4050 MINI. For example, for 1/8” steel the Wire Speed is 250. Set your welder to 120-125amps. Keep the Voltage at 0 adjustment value while you are learning basic welding.Warranty: One year. Unlike most other sellers, SSimder has a nice Web Site with a phone and email contact. I emailed them but did not get a reply. I doubt they are better in case a warranty claim is needed. Most machines failures occur at the beginning or the end of life. I tested the welder using 120 and 220V and up to 140 Amps 220V and 90F outside. It is still working. Hopefully it will be a reliable welder.PPE: Don’t imitate what so many youtubers do. Use the proper PPE for your eyes, head, hands, feet and body.Learning Welding principles: If you are a beginner I recommend Learn to Weld: Beginning MIG Welding and Metal Fabrication Basics Hardcover – Illustrated, October 10, 2014 by Stephen Christena (Author). About $15 from Amazon. It is a MIG book, but most of what he teaches applies to Flux Cored Welding.Get this welder or any other you like, at the same price level, all have the same limitations and similar capabilities. The 4050 MINI build quality seemed to me a little better than the lower priced welders. That’s why I bought it and decided to keep it.

Light and useful
I love this thing. I used it to repair my riding lawnmower deck. It's easy to use and gives a good smooth weld. I am not a welder but I did a pretty good job. Watched a couple of You tube videos and went for it. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg and I have it to repair other things. I used it to repair the pin attachment to my 7 foot brush cutter. I recommend the MIG Welder SSIMDER 140A MIG/Lift TIG/Stick 3 in 1 Welding Machine Dual Voltage 110V 220V welder. The fact that I can use a 110V extension cord with the recommended gauge wire makes it a lot easier to repair metal that I cannot get close to the plug outlet. Thanks

"Cheap" meets good, but so for absolutely blows any harbor fright welder out of the water.
The only downside to this welder is the way you hook up gas is a little odd the hose just gets hose clamped, I've tried everything except stick and the plasma cutter and everything seems to work pretty dang good even on 120v so far doesn't get hot, no issues with any buttons. And actually like the way the display is set up just no real instructions. And a metal thickness to Amp diagram on the machine would be nice for us new guys.

Skeptic at first
I am more than surprised with this machine! I'm not a certified welder but I've been mig welding and stick welding for years. I was skeptical about a all in one unit but I can say the two features I use the most, mig and plasma, blew me away. So much so that I will be selling my hobart 140 and Airforce 12ci.
