Great budget EDC knife.
For a cheap beater knife, you can't ask for more. It's ergonomic, small, lightweight, has great D2 steel, locks firmly, and has a functional blade shape. I use this often for work, when I'm afraid of losing my more expensive EDC knives, and it works flawlessly.

Great Knife
I carry and use the Rat 1 a lot, but wanted to try something a little smaller. Very impressed, high quality, very strong, compact and unnoticeable in a pocket, and sharpens easily!

Very Nice!
My husband's knife arrived today and he loves it. There's no wiggle in the blade, it opens easily with a crisp liner-lock click and closes smoothly without the spring snapping or pulling it shut. He's opened and closed it maybe 100 times already. The blade is perfectly centered when closed. He lost his Spyderco Delica 4 earlier this week and was desperate to get another everyday carry knife but didn't want to spend so much money on the replacement. The Delica was an outstanding knife but he feels this Rat II may be a better quality knife at a much better price point. It used his ceramic sticks set at 40 degrees to put a razor sharp edge on it. It's his first D2 blade so we will see if going with that steel was a wise idea. Time will tell. The delivery was very fast (three days) and it wasn't an Amazon Prime order. Thanks eCop! and Ontario.

My EDC Knife
First let me say I am a knife guy. While I would love my EDC to be my Benchmade Bugout (So Light and slim) I just worry about losing a $150 knife. I like a compact knife so, RAT II and I say get the the D2 steel. I have subjected the knife (This is number 2 lost the original) to hard dirty use and it withstood it. It did need some clean up after the abuse, but it cleaned up and worked just fine. And the D2 steel likes frequent touch up but some swipes on the ceramic rod ant it is sharp again. This knife just does so much right.

It’s great!
The blade came sharp. The action is very smooth and fidgety and the handle feels very high-quality. The blade also has no side to side movement and locks nicely.

Product came in as advertised.
Product came in as advertised, it’s pretty light but sturdy. Great value for your money. If you want a good edc knife that’s good and relatively inexpensive then this is the right choice.

Overall nice, but needs adjustment
This is a very nice looking knife, and extremely sharp D2 blade, as received. However, the blade was stiff to open, the blade not centered when closed, and the linerlock very difficult to disengage to close the blade. With attempts to adjust and lightly lubricate the pivot, the blade deploys smoothly now, but the linerlock is still hard to disengage. Not sure how to make this any better, and it's a long way from the smooth operation of another RAT II that I own.Overall a very nice pocket knife. I wish it had been inspected and adjusted before leaving the manufacturing facility.
