As advertised
It’s soft and cushioned. The buttons don’t fall off if you put a protector/sheet on it. It will slide off easily so use cabinet liners under it and it will hold in one spot. It’s actually worth the purchase though.

Iffy - Awful Smell & Mismatched Buttons, But Comfortable
This futon is very comfortable, but still strongly and sharply smells of chemicals after almost a week. I'm not expecting the smell to go away, unfortunately, and once you buy this thing, there's a 0% chance you can return it just due to transportation. I was concerned it was too small for my futon at first (and it's not quite as big as the old full mattress I had on it) but after I steamed the very deep wrinkles in it, it fits on the frame nicely. The buttons were clearly made for another type of futon because they're velvet and don't match the texture of the rest of the fabric whatsoever (and they sell velvet mattresses). It's very odd looking.

Perfect for what I needed
I was hesitant but it is actually working out very well. Thickness is great and I love the seems and buttons.

Too puffy- does not retain shape and firmness - fell apart with minimal use. Bad for back issues
This futon came in a very small box. Upon opening it expanded to full size quickly and seemed much more plush than expected. It says 6", but was much fluffier, closer to 8-10". Initally this seemed great, but I bought this for firmess due to back issues, and I could tell within a day or two that it would sink in -leaving your head and feet more elevated than your torso. This put way too much pressure on my back.I also noticed as anouther reviewer mentioned, that the edge did not stay square. So if you sit on the edge of the mattress to roll into bed, it indents in that spot and does not restore - you have a permanent dip. This occurs very quickly, only after 2-3x getting into bed.Due to the pressure it put on my back, I only tried it a couple times for short naps. within two weeks the buttons started popping off - right about the time it was too late to return. This makes the pad completely uneven - unusable. It is now a giant cat bed until I can get it picked up for disposal. Structural quality is poor. Do not recommend, esp. if you have back issues.

Early days, but so far so good.
This just arrived last night. Box was way heavier than I thought it would be. The futon was double wrapped and each layer was vacuum sealed. Upon breaking the seal, this thing freakin doubled in size! I got it on my platform bed and it had already expanded to the full 6 inches. It takes a little getting used to a futon again instead of an inner spring mattress, but I like it. My bunkie boards have not yet arrived, so I can feel the platform bed supports through the futon when I sit up, but sleeping is comfortable. There was an odd plastic smell when I first set it up, but that has since dissipated overnight. I look forward to continued use of this futon. Keep in mind that futons will compress as you use them. Just get some camp pad and put it underneath the futon. It's well worth not being stabbed by rogue springs!Edit. Had it for 12 days. Still comfy. Glad I got it.

Yes as sofa, no as bed
Pictures were taken an hour after removing from compressed packaging, and sprang into a fluffy 8 inches. I let it expand for 24 hours before sleeping on it, but it unfortunately lacks in comfort. It looks nice and is just fine for sofa seating, but not fit for regular sleeping…feels like laying on a pile of towels.

Great comfort and Looks Nice
This replaced a very expensive futon mattress. I am very happy. There was no smell. It came in a tiny box that was too heavy for me to lift. I was surprised it was my mattress. I gave it a 4 due to two buttons already popping off. This hasn't had a ton of wear yet, we cover it if someone is sleeping over and using it for a bed. But the buttons coming off bugs me a bit. I saved them and can reattach, but shouldn't have to after so little use. It is comfortable and the gray is light and makes the room look much nicer than the previous one we had.

Wrinkles
Did not like the way it opened up and be wrinkles all the way through it. The only reason why I’m keeping it is because I get too big to send away.
