Check the fuel keg before the return window closes
I think this is a great product. If you frequently use 1 Lb propane cylinders this will save you money and keep disposables out of the landfill. That said, I purchased the fill kit which came with 1 fuel keg and I purchased an additional fuel keg so I would have 2. The one that came with the fill kit worked flawlessly. I will need to refill it soon so I went to fill the 2nd fuel keg that was purchased separately. The bleeder valve does not work. It will not open to allow trapped air out so propane will not go in. I should have checked it sooner. The return window closed 25 days ago so I will have to call customer service tomorrow and hope they will replace the bad bottle.Update: Customer service was excellent. Unlike others on Amazon it was hassle free, no delay tactics, no ridiculous hoops to jump through. The gentleman I spoke with was able to identify the issue quickly and had a solution to the problem. It was nice to speak with someone who understands their products and stands behind them.

Stop Using the single use bottles!
Anything to get people away from using those single use, disposable propane bottles! More cost effective and the fuel savings alone will more than pay for the initial investment for this product and the items needed to refill them.

Better than the alternative...
Since prices have shot up on the disposable ones it doesn't make much sense to keep buying them. So the question is do you go for this one or the other major brand. To me this is easy...the other major one requires when you fill that you have an Allen wrench, put it in the slot, and turn it to stop the propane from getting out, not sure how many part or whole turns are necessary. This one has a built in ring apparently on a spring, with open and closed positions, so when you twist it, it opens to let the air out and when you twist it back you keep the propane from getting out. Since proper operation of this allows you to fill the tank completely this is significant and much easier to do one handed and there is nothing to lose or find, or keep track of. Hey if you never fill this outside your workshop it may not matter, but otherwise go with this one. [Caveat: I have no idea about the longevity of either design]

5 Star Product - 1 Star Customer Service
This is a great product! As you can see from many of the negative reviews, there can be some re-filling issues that are blamed on poorly designed vent valves etc. I had several of these tanks that would vent for 1-2 seconds and then stop abruptly. I cut one of them open to see how the valve system worked from the inside. What I found was a very simple and well engineered valve system with no apparent reason for the mysterious vent shutdown. Upon reflection I have a theory. The venting and rapid expansion of the vapor causes a instant and dramatic temperature drop of the entire brass valve. If there is any moisture present around the internal vent mechanism it flash freezes stopping the venting process. After a few fills of each tank there is bound to be some humid air carried into the tank (think of the ambient air in the filling unit being pushed into the tank ahead of the propane on the first tank filled). I had 3 tanks that would not fill last Friday - today (Sunday) all three filled easily.Bottom line - if you have tanks that won't fill, give them a rest and try again once they have warmed up a bit. There's probably nothing wrong with the Fuel Keg.So, why the 1 Star for customer service?Customer service does not acknowledge my emails so I assume they get a lot of complaints about this issue and their solution is to ignore their customers. Says a lot about the company.

Quality Issues but why still 4 stars
Bought 5 of the fuel keg 1 lb bottles, because the reviews and easy to refill vs flame king. But very disappointed with the quality control or maybe I received some returned items. 3 out of 5 had issues. 1 had slow leaks, 2 only can fill up less than halfway because of the bleeder valve clogged. Customer services is good, talk to a real person last than 5 minutes of wait time. They send me the way how to fix it by email. Turns out the slow leak one is the o-ring does not seat correctly, just use a nail push down with main valve pin for few sec, and the leak stop. Hopes to remain stop for the rest of the time. Other two with bleeder valve clog. Use the tip they send manage to fill them up, however still clogged a bit. Needs to replace the bleeder valve. I suggest use these brass caps with gasket build-in instead of using the plastic one comes with the bottle. In case of them leaking without notice the plastic cap comes with the bottle won’t stop slow leak.I use about 12 to 15 of 1 lb bottles every year for camping and overlanding. The coleman one is getting a lot expensive than they use to be, now is almost $9+ a bottle with tax. This refill type of bottle should start saving me money on the 2nd year of use. Let see how they are holding up for long run. If is not the issues I have, this product should be 5 stars. 2 stars off because they shouldn’t be needing fix by end user out from the box.Even some small quality Issues this is still the best product to replace these one time use propane.
