Easy to understand
I think it's important for children to know some basic survival skills. I'm slowly trying to get it through to my granddaughter but unfortunately, I am aware that her parents would take it away from her if she had it in her own home. So, it's in my home, in her reading corner. I'll point it out to her. She's very interested. We'll get the knowledge to her, one way or another.

the book does not cover how to eat your pals to survive
i like that this prepares your child to survive the saharan desert or amazon jungle if they ever run away

Very good!
This is a good way to address fears of youngsters which are often unfounded.

Excellent! My 9yr old can now escape a mountain lion...
I bought this for my 9yr old son for christmas. Full of exciting and potentially useful advice and techniques, this is well written and illustrated. Im glad that my kid can now survive an avalanche, hopefully there wont be many on the welsh coast where we live, but you never know! Great book in the lonely planet series.

Grandsons birthday present
Mad keen I’m stuff like this. Always have liked lonely planet books when travelling so this hopefully will be a hit with him. He’s fairly advanced with his reading so should keep him occupied
