So far, I am very pleased with this handy little saw. This is my first experience with a battery operated saw. I bought it, not knowing what to expect, because I didn’t want to be up on a ladder with my 14” chain saw which requires two hands to use.I used this Skil saw to cut up about ¾ of a large mesquite tree which had a large number of dead limbs, many of which were close to 6” diameter. I went through 5 battery charges and cut the dead limbs up for the wood stove. I ended up cutting a little over ¼ cord of mesquite firewood with this little saw. Not exactly how you would expect a pruning saw to be used but I wanted to see if it would stand up to the task, which it did. It performed well for a light duty saw.The chain is still nice and sharp, which was another pleasant surprise. Mesquite is a dense hardwood which can quickly dull a lesser quality chain.This would be a good saw to take along on a hunt or camping trip. It’s really all you need.I don’t write very many reviews because I’m seldom very impressed with most things I buy. I’m sharing my experience with this saw because I like it. I like it so well that I ordered a spare battery and chain for it. I plan to keep it for a while. I do wish it came in a hard case though. . . . . . . . . .

This saw works very well for keeping trails clear, trimming hedges and cutting up the crown of a very large fallen oak tree. I've done all this in just one week. The auto oiler works great. The saw is light but powerful. Register it online and SKIL gives you a 5 year warranty. The battery charge lasted for about three hours of use (appx 100 cuts). Charges very fast. Easily fits in a backpack and doesn't leak oil.

So much easier to use than a two-handed chain saw for use with brush. The easy-adjust chain tensioner is what truly makes the saw worth the price.

this saw goes through a 3&4 inch log like it’s nothing , i also bought a sharping file to keep chain cutter sharp, don’t forget the chain lube.
