The 2017 Rams are a great case study in coaching offense. The dramatic one-year improvement from 2016 to 2017 gives coaches of all levels realistic lessons that can be applied to their teams. With a mastery of a few drop back passing concepts, creative screens, and well-timed run plays, the Rams had a plan of attack on every third down, regardless of distance needed or defensive structure. With each concept the Rams used, the reader will have the information needed to look up video for each play. How do you limit sacks on third downs? By examining the Rams most efficient third down concepts, the reasons become apparent. One of the influences in McVay’s brilliant first season is the ability to give his quarterback an easy read, while not sacrificing the ability to defeat the coverage. Some of the most efficient concepts used throughout the season were simple concepts that many high school teams use on a regular basis. Review: Excellent resource for coaches and fans - The 2017 Rams' development from one of the worst offenses in the NFL to one of the best, as well as the rapid improvement of Jared Goff is something a lot of coaches have taken notice of. I had begun the process of breaking down the 2017 Rams offense when I discovered Bobby Peters had already done a lot of the work for me. This manual gives a picture of how Sean McVay and his staff were able to take a relatively small (by NFL standards) core of offensive concepts and dress them up into a potent 3rd down attack. It contains statistical breakdowns for each concept and play references that make it easy for any NFL Gamepass subscriber to look up the relevant video. Review: Great job Coach - Great job Coach Peters, This book gets down to the meat of understanding what to look for in 3rd down situations. I would recommend it to any coach or fan of the game. I would have love to see some game footage.

A detailed look at the 2017 Rams
Terrific look at how mastering a small number of concepts was critical for a young quarterback. Their 3rd down package in '17 also included a liberal use of stacked, compressed and bunched alignments. Bobby's illustrations show how each concept was executed and lays out a success rate for each

MUST READ ASAP-- 5 STARS
MUST READ ASAP- 5 STARS I whole heartedly recommend this book to football coaches of all levels. Bobby Peters did an excellent job explaining and diagraming the L.A. Rams 3rd down plays. The book is extremely detailed, discusses the QB progression, and provides a thorough explanation on why the play/concept was successful or unsuccessful. The book provides statistical information such as the average distance needed when the play/concept was called, and how many times the particular play/concept throughout the season. This is an amazing book if the reader has NFL GamePass subscription, the book details the opponent, the quarter, and the down and distance. This book is extremely easy to follow and would be beneficial for coaches to read this book to understand the WHYs behind a football play/concept. Miguel Sanchez
