I kept seeing the more expensive version of this at the store and wasn't sure if my seven year old would like it. When I saw this cheaper and that it was the same thing without the "deluxe" art kit I decided to go for it. This was one of my little girls favorite Christmas presents. It isn't perfect and it isn't the most high tech thing out there but it is fun. You get the little book where you color in the dress. After that you take a pic to sort of scan it into the app. Then you see your model wearing your creation. It is really pretty cool to see what you colored on the screen. I will say that my daughter was bummed that you couldn't draw on jewelry or anything like that because nothing shows on the app outside of the outfit. You do have a few options for jewelry and hair and such within the app but they aren't too exciting. Two more things that bug me with this are the fact that the model stands there for such a looooong time. You would think since they stand there for so long maybe they could turn around a few times so you could see the work that you did on the back of the outfit but no such luck. The model turns around and you get to see the back for a very short time which is disappointing. All in all though this has been really enjoyable for my little girl. I don't think I would suggest it for an older say tween girl who is into fashion because there just really isn't much there for them to work with. However for a girl that is maybe six, seven, or eight I'd say this is worth the money.

My (7yeard old) Daughter is really into designing and fashion right now so I picked this up for Christmas. We finally got to open it the other day and see what it can do. We started by downloading the app and then from there my daughter picked her favorite dress and went to town coloring. The App we used (iphone) was super easy she could even navigate by herself. So we uploaded her first drawling and there it was walking down the Cat walk. Colors were a little light compared to what they were on the paper but no biggie when your kid see's there drawling come to life. Now here is the only downfall that we agreed on you can only color the dresses on the paper and there is only limited paper so after 8 or so designs you are done. I think they should make it with multiple dresses as well as other fashion like a purse or makeup or hat maybe shoes something other then the dress. Great little set for the price maybe try and copy the paper to get more for your money? Also, if they added it where you could design a whole girl from head to tow that would be awesome as well!

Colors don't show up on your tablet/phone like they are supposed to but still cool to see the designs. They definitely need to fix their issue with colors though. All the dresses are basically black or gray.

Buyer Beware!
Buyer Beware: You will have to pay $4 to download the app and if you're planning on dowloading to your childs ipod touch know it's only for the 5th generation models. With that said, My friends daughter (who I gave this as a present to) had already started coloring the pages as I was downloading the app, and once I got it on her mom's phone, it said I had to purchase the app to use it. Really Crayola??? You put a free app in the store but then make people buy it? I wasn't very impressed.

Kids are amazed when they see their designs in 3D!
So much fun! My 8 yr old had been crazy about this. We have designed dresses and outfits together. I like the ability to download and print other styles from the app itself, especially the newly added male/boy styles. Hours of fun, And when friends come over, they can make outfits, and put them in the runway show together. After the simple process of uploading your design, front and back, you then can change your models hair, skin, make-up, shoes, accessories... one really neat little plus on the runway is that it picks up the designers 'signature' from the autograpgh box and when your model walks the runway, it is displayed on the marquee.
