How is it with slicing cheese

I use it a lot, but haven't tried cheese yet. love this machine, as it is easy to wash the parts. Surely cheese must be cuttable on it. I do my own ham/beef slices any thickness. enjoy!

Is this machine quiet?

I never even thought about the noise, so yes it is relatively quiet.

Does anyone have a problem with the on/off continuous switch? The depression type system has stopped working on mine?

I have never had a problem with it and am very happy with it
