Useful and compact distance sensor that can be used for a variety of applications. Keep away from windows however. Sunlight can interfere with the IR sensor.

I use these on my model railroad for block detection with a Aurdino uno and they work as well as expected

No instructions or specifications, but fairly easy to figure out as all you have are plus 5v, ground, and the "it's near" line. Range was under a foot indoors at max adjustment.

I was so thrilled to get 20 pcs for such a great price, however, I wish I had reached the specs on this a bit more before getting them. First of this is strictly an obstacle detector, meaning that the output pin changes state from high to low when the sense distance is achieved. I had mistakenly believed I would get some sort of analog value which would help "range" where the robot was. This turned out not to be the case. That said, these are still great sensors for simple robots, I'm now using a few to let me know when my the skittles sorting robot to let me know when the bin is full. There are plenty of things you can dream up with these and at the price, you can network a few together on your microcontroller to get different ranges from your bot.

The product arrived on time and is of very good quality, I am very satisfied.
