These are nice thick cables with equally thick plastic sheathing. The biggest problem I see here is that it's limited to 4 ft... which is fine as a bike lock, but for many purposes 4ft is just too short. I had planned to use this to loop through a kayaks scupper holes and go though a vehicles windows to lock the craft to the roof of the car. A longer cable really is needed, but I found I could string two of these cables together by securing them with a padlock on both ends. It does work, but the loop ends are so thick that I could just barely get them to fit through standard scupper holes.These are good quality cables. If I have to comment on a weak point, it would be the termination points, the loops. They're clamped together at the ends, and they could separate depending on the conditions. The sheathing also leaves the bare end of the cable unprotected at the ends... which could lead to serious rusting at the ends due to salty conditions.

This coiled security cable is nice and thick and feels strong.The build quality is very good, and the cable feels very heavy duty. The cable is 1/4 inch which isn't super thick, but the coating makes it feel thicker than it is. This isn't a negative; if you're going to buy a 1/4 inch thick steel cable, having it look extra beefy isn't a bad thing. As long as you're not buying a 1/4 inch thick steel cable with a thick coating and expecting it to have the same cut resistance of a 1/2 inch steel cable, then the thick coating is only a benefit.I can't rate the cut resistance without using a pair of bolt cutters on it, but most security cables are a deterrent from casual thieves, and it fits the bill well.The cable is designed to coil itself when not pulled straight, and that makes it easy to store. It also comes with little hook-and-loop cable ties for storage which is a nice touch.I'm going to use it on things that need to be locked up to prevent casual theft, but for very expensive things I'd use a solution other than a 1/4 inch steel cable and lock. That doesn't mean that this is a bad cable, just that you need to choose the right one for the job. If you're looking for a 1/4 inch thick steel cable that looks and feels heavier duty than most 1/4 inch steel cables, this is a good choice. The design is good and the price makes it a good value.

I was looking for a cable and lock for my bike when I saw this one. The laminated steel cable is thick and strong and the 4 feet of cable is long enough to secure my bike, and then coils back when I am through with it. I like that the lock is laminated and the key hole is covered as well, to protect from any elements. It comes with 2 keys, lock, cable and two velco ties. This cable and lock check all the boxes and at a decent price point.

This is an awesome purchase of mine, probably my best! I bought this to keep my shed doors locked up, and i can assure that i am not disappointed at all. It is SUPER durable and very easy to use, the plain black design is expected but it’s still pleasing to the eye. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a durable and reliable cable lock.

The Guliffen security cables are very nicely finished. The steel cable is wrapped in a thick vinyl covering that will not damage the finish on the item you are securing. A heavy vinyl boot covers the large steel crimp that creates the end loops. These loops at the cable ends are just large enough to pass through each other – so you can create a closed loop around the item to be protected and utilize the rest of the length of the cable to reach to what you are anchoring to or to another cable. Two thoughtfully provided hook and loop straps on each cable aid in keeping them coiled for storage. A determined thief who comes equipped with cutting tools will be able to defeat any cable or chain you use to protect an item, but these security cables and a padlock will protect you from an opportunistic thief.For this level of protection, I find these to be excellent security cables.
