Amazing book
Lots of good information regarding mental illness and scanning of brains showing other forces at play.Thorough research and scientific conclusions given to prove diagnosis given is wrong at times.

One of my goals/dreams is to get to the Amen clinic and have my brain scanned, I know it’s not in the right shape but applying the information in this book it will be better.

A fantastic learning resource about mental health challenges and understanding your brain
I firmly enjoyed reading this book! Dr. Amen has a a brilliant (occasionally humorous) way of explaining you many of the problems modern society faces due to their lifestyle or circumstances affecting their most precious organ - their brain. He also provides a number of ways around it with advice and explains what you can do to keep your brain health in better condition. Some technical vocabulary was used, which made it for me a little more interesting reading it. Anyone with an interest in psychology and wanting to make their conscious life better, I can recommend this book.

Dr Daniel amen service and supplements and end mental illness
I am a huge fan of dr Daniel amen and his wife tanna. I have aspergers syndrome and adhd and really like his books.the only thing with this book I would of prefer a section on autism spectrum disorder and adhd but apart from that very good. All his supplements specially brain and body power max can do wonders for your brain and well being. :)

Amazing! I love this book so much. It’s so informative and insightful and isn’t too difficult to read either. I need to get the other books from this Author because I absolutely love him!

Disappointing
Oh boy. When I started this book I foolishly hadn’t realised it is primarily a self-help book and is written in an evangelistic style. If I do everything Daniel tells me to do, he says my life will be managed by a healthier brain and therefore my whole life will be a healthier and more fulfilling experience. I learnt that 78% of people reading his book are statistically more successful and more attractive (I made this stat up). Young people who do not walk on tarmacadam pathways have proven resistance to heart failure and dementia in their later years (yes, I’m fabricating this too, although suggested by Daniel) Who knows if the information in his book is authentically proven or not, or if any facts are selected to provide a personal wealth-generating formula? Do we care? To me, the atmosphere of his book resembles a creepy spiritualist meeting where hope is dealt by sleight of hand and a myopic willingness to believe. This year, Daniel is valued at $50 million (reference Eric Singer. I am Gold Panda) and lives in a $4.8 million mansion (reference Washington Post. August 2012). It is disappointing that Daniel feels it necessary to trash most other modern psychiatric methods and present himself as the new shiny and wealthy messiah of brain health. If all this sounds good, you might love this book. I guess that a new self-help brain guru will soon follow Daniel, and off we will go again, generating substantial wealth, for some of us.

Very insightful and informative

Very Informative
This is an excellent book. Very well written, easy to understand. Brought me to a new awareness of how important eating the right things is (nutrition). Explained why certain products are not good for you and can wreak havoc on the brain. It is very obvious Dr. Amen has done his research and is very respected and well known for a reason. Because of his findings and results I am researching SPECT Scans and hope to go through the process. He seems genuinely interested in helping others with their mental health.

Must read .. top off the list book for everyone
There is a lot of information that is very much useful, if implemented in our live, could keep our brains healthy.

Transformational! You know you should be doing everything in this book - why aren't you? START.
Transformational - IF you make the choice for it to be. People generally know what to do, they just don't do what they know - or do they? In this book Dr. Amen covers a tremendous amount of ground. The title of the book "The End of Mental Illness" may throw off some readers, no spoilers here, but you could change the title to "The End of a Crappy Life", "The End of Unhealthy Lifestyles", "The End of Bad Choices" - it all still applies. The book is well organized and the "tiny habits" summaries throughout the book are game changers. No matter who you are, there have been days when you have felt like you are not 100% - in some cases that's even led to a professional diagnoses and some type of treatment (pill) that can go on for a lifetime; if not yourself, then you've certainly seen this happen to others close to you. But is that the right treatment? - in some cases, yes, but in many I would argue no - but I'm just a layperson and Amen is a MD so perhaps his opinions and thought will go a longer way than mine. Walk into any convenience store in America and you are bombarded with unhealthy choices that are STEALING your life away - we are literally being programmed by corporate America to purchase and consume products that are destroying our health and our lives - generational change - IN A BAD WAY. In addition to a slew of quality advice about healthy lifestyle and food choices that impact your brain and state of mind, Dr. Amen goes the extra step and offers some wisdom on how to expand that impact even further - imagine - a bunch of readers getting excited about getting healthy and taking action to do so - crazytalk! - surely that's someone else's job and my job is to sit back and talk about how bad the status quo is... - no it's not - READ, LEARN, ACT - get off your asses, make good choices, set a good example for your kids, spouse, family, co-workers, everyone. Lots of common sense in this book, not necessarily a lot of common practice (but could be). Preventable death and disease is of major concern to me - the costs are high in our society, and with the current COVID pandemic even more significant - how many people that contracted CV19 on top of pre-existing conditions (obesity, hypertension, diabetes, etc.) immediately wished they would have made better choices in life - for some it has been terminal - there hasn't been much time to wish... In Louisiana where we rank last or 2nd to last in just about every national ranking category related to wellness, this is a big problem. I put off reading this book b/c it's 448 pages long and I was thinking it would take a great deal of time to read, but I sailed through it in a week - it's a page turner. Doesn't matter who you are, young or old, married, single, no kids or kids - there is information in this book that can set you up for success, happiness, and health. Stop the sugar! Eat the veggies! Exercise! Sleep! Eliminate toxins! Highly recommend.

This book should be translated in italian. It'd help a lot of people.Very adviced. I hope someone would translate it soon
