Slash, smack and bash your way through the Sengoku period of Japan!
I think it's fair to say the 'Warriors' series of games (Dynasty, Samurai, Orochi e.t.c) are akin to marmite. People either love them or hate them. If you love these games, there is no reason you won't love this.It features a large cast of characters, each with unique moves, charge attacks, musou attacks, and 2 special skills. There are literally 20+ stages to fight through, and each character (excluding 2) has their own story mode with full CG cut scenes and a bonus dream stage. The music is catchy but not fantastic, and the graphics are average. As for fun, if you like button mashing and hack'n'slash, you can't go wrong. On the historical side, this game can teach you the basics of the Sengoku period. As well as story mode, you can play Free Mode - in which you can choose any character and any stage. There is also a board game a bit like monopoly, which is fun to waste a bit of time. Survival mode pits you against an infinitely vast castle, where you can fight to your hearts content and unlock a character. At the end of the day, if you hate Warrior games, SW2 isn't going to change your opinion. But for those that love the series, this is a great addition to your collection!

good game, shame about the scratches
great game, really fun. characters typically cheesy. am pretty annoyed that the game arrived scratched when it was described as "in very good condition". some levels weren't playable due to scratches.

Very Fun
If you ever enjoyed Dynasty Warriors 3-5 You'll enjoy this game.its a standard Hack'n'Slash with features that make it interesting and different from Dynasty Warriors, while being just as enjoyable. It takes place in a different location and era to DW as its set in Japan when muskets were first turning up and if your anything like me You'll instantly think Last Samurai (and then realise that you can actually play as many samurai's in this game. woohoo)The music is an odd fusion of traditional Japanese and Electro/D'N'B and it works, very catchy and I prefer it too the 80's style guitar soundtracks of Dynasty Warriors 4.The characters are interesting (mostly) with a wide variety of backgrounds and factions rather than just a handful. The voice acting is functional why being a little angsty (particularly with the love plots). Every character has a different story when you play as them and they usually vary quite a lot, and its worth noting in this game you can be in a situation where its 3 different forces all against each other rather than just 2.The plot is a lot more believable and somewhat deeper than Dynasty Warriors particularily relating to Nobunaga Oda without sacraficing gameplay, and the levels are harder not in terms of the units you defeat but you can't go out on a rampage hunting generals like on dynasty cause your Main Camp is always under threat of being attacked so you have to key your eye on the map (why hunting generals cautiously) theres also a lot more specific things that can happen in certain battles depending on your character. This game is worth playingPS for anyone thinking that the game will not be as good without the challenge of Lu Bu, Tadakatsu Honda is a 7 foot man with a helmet with deer antlers on it, who manages to be the character that everyone fears without being a kn*b like Lu Bu

Superb - and replayable too
This game is excellent. The detailed story modes combine with the flawless gameplay to create Koei's best hack-and-slash yet. The 5-stage story modes for each individual character give the player a lot of things to do before even considering getting bored with this game. The story modes are followed by Dream battles to keep you occupied as well. The gameplay is similar to others in the Dynasty Warriors series however this game has an added p-zazz to it that makes it special. Battles offer many twists and turns that keep you guessing and battles fail to get boring as they are altered slightly for each character. As well as this, the sugoroku and survival game modes provide extra ways to fight and allow you to unlock different characters. In this game 24 of 26 characters have story modes each with different cutscenes and dialogues between battles. Also, the Shop allows you to sculpt your character the way you want them to be, rather than the computer doing all of the upgrading for you. The individual character special moves add something to the game that the Dynasty Warriors series didn't have. Also, the stories are actually interesting, compared to those of Dynasty Warriors 6 where all your charcaters are capable of talking about is honour, justice or revenge. I almost cried at the end of Magoichi Saika's story mode, I know it seems sad but I couldn't help myself, and it goes to show the depth that has been added to this game. Yukimura Sanada's is pretty good too.I recommend this game to anybody that's got a taste for action games and to anybody who enjoys the thrill of killing computer generated characters. It provides endless hours of fun and is one of the leading games in the hack-and-slash genre. You can play it again and again with the survival and sugoroku modes but the story modes provide a long time of entertainment.
