Seems hypoallergenic
It's difficult to review arbutin because it's a long-haul product. I won't know how well it works for several months. However, I can tell you that I've been using it mixed with my regular face wash for two weeks with no irritation. I have been using just a small amount each time so I think that this bottle will last me for quite a while. The price is good, too.

Alpha Arbutin
I love Sturelehub products. I have purchased many different variations of their cosmetic grade powders in the past for my diy projects. This is yet another great powder from this company. It is in a cute little 1oz container within a box and it includes, as always, a handy scoop for easy weighing/measuring. It is 99.9% pure, cosmetic grade and has a very fine powder texture. Alpha arbutin, a glucoside of hydroquinone, is an ingredient known to help treat skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, leading to a brighter complexion. It is water soluble, so it must be dissolved in water-based ingredients first before adding to a formulation and it is heat sensitive above 104 degrees F. It works by blocking the synthesis of excess melanin in the epidermal cells and it has less side effects when compared to hydroquinone (due to delayed release). It is naturally found in bearberries, mulberries, blueberries, cranberries, some varieties of pears and daisy flowers. I believe the natural sources of arbutin are in different isomeric form (beta), but the alpha form tends to be more stable in cosmetic formulations making it more ubiquitous in current products.

Unsanitary
Was contaminated by a 4 inch black hair. Cannot use and this means it is an unsanitary product environment.
