Educational, but more importantly, fun.
In a nutshell:Things I liked:+ Easy to learn and play, suitable for children aged 4-8 years. Can accommodate 2-4 players, ideal for family game nights.+ Fun and interactive gameplay that keeps children entertained. Effectively teaches math concepts (addition and subtraction) in an engaging manner.Things I didn't like:- Children may find it too easy as they get older and more proficient in maths, although there is still a benefit to practising the number bonds.Do I recommend it?Yes, for younger children (around ages 5-6) who are starting out with basic maths. It is a fun and engaging way to reinforce those key number calculations that crop up again and again - the number bonds that children will rely on throughout their school career. Crucially though, it's fun, so it doesn't feel like that's what you're doing!

A really well thought out game that is not only fun but educational at the same time.
I got this game for my 5 year old grand daughter who has just turned 5 recently. I got it for her birthday so I was really glad that it came in a nice colourful cardboard box making it very presentable indeed. If you have a look at the attached pictures you will see what the game looks like and what the box that it comes in looks like. Even the instructions leaflet is in colour. All the pieces seem to be really well made as does the main board with the mountain bit in the middle. You can see in the attached pictures that you have some cards with simple sums on them and a number of blue coloured boulders that are used to count and represent the answers with the correct number of boulders. Each player will also have a piece to represent them on the board, and you use the sums to move that amount of spaces on the board. There are different games or modes of playing so that if you play a different game it can be more suitable for older children or it may be designed to be more inclusive so that other children can also play. However, the basic principles are the same with the sums cards, counting boulders, and playing pieces that move around the board. You can have between 2 and 4 players which is excellent when you want to leave the kids to their own devices and let them play with their friends or alongside other adults, which is what we initially did until the kids were comfortable with what they were doing. You can tell when a game is hitting it's target age group perfectly when you see the children pickup the rules within minutes and know what to do without much adult guidance. It might not look like much fun, but when you know that the winner will get a trophy at the end it can even get very competitive and very enjoyable with a lot of fun to be had along the way.Overall I can't really find any faults or negative points to mention about it at the moment, but I'm sure there will be a few niggley things that popup, but from what I have seen of the game up to now it's an excellent choice, and at £22.00 it's money well spent and I would definitely recommend it.

Fun way to learn...
This game is being used in a local Primary School where it has proved very popular. It is a fun way for the children to learn and they have been very engaged. The game is well made, robust and features both a Yeti and a goat!

Learning without realising
I really rate the learning resources company for their selection of board games and activities. We’ve had the opportunity to review a few items from this company and they’re always very well made and entertaining activities that you can do over and over. This game is another winner with a solid 3d game board that doesn’t collapse partway (as some games can) if you have a slightly heavy handed, excited child playing. There are different ways of playing the game depending on the age you’re playing with and number of players, the rules being very easy to pick up even at the younger ages.My 6yr old has played this on a couple of occasions now and doesn’t see it as learning, despite the game literally being maths questions to move your character through the board to the end. He’s been able to answer them all correctly, either counting on his fingers or using a bit of paper. All the pieces also fit nicely inside the box between play, so you don’t have to fight to squeeze it all back in or risk losing anything.

Kid loves it but arrived damaged
The game itself is a huge favourite with our little. He loves winning the golden cup and really enjoys using the ice mountains as counters. It could do with some "expansion cards" once the addition and subtraction cards are too easy but we can always make our own. Only shame is that the game board already had damage and marks on it despite being new

A level playing field
My friend's 4yr old is autistic, and has a number fixation. And when I saw this I already knew we were going to have a great afternoon. The "board" is *really* well made and the bits all fit together beautifully - and they stay that way throughout play :)The instructions come with a number of rulesets to suit different levels of play - you can add boulders to the path; add a goat that walks around the mountain and gets in your way ...The characters all have comedy names, but we made up our own, so "Yeti Mummy" [I might have had something to do with that choice] stood aloft our mountain holding a gold cup for the winner. The maths is all 'maths you can do on your fingers', and (candidly) the game is (like snakes and ladders) essentially random - unless of course you start making maths mistakes ;)Much fun was had - and will be had again! :) 5*

Easy to learn and play
We've been playing this with our nephew who is well within the intended age bracket - certainly well aimed at 5+ years. Overall this is a lovely set with clear progress evident up the mountain and is easy to setup and get playing. Very impressed - great quality and good value.

Fun to play
This is a really fun game. we even had our 4 year old have a go at this with a little help. Its easy to construct and easy to play. The cards and maths problems are the dice and you can get through a round in about 10 mins. The are always eager to play this and that is no bad thing
