Grokking Web Application Security

Although I have been working in this space for close to two decades, it's always refreshing to read a book like this. Especially when you're looking to modernize yourself to today's world and the threats we face daily. This books covers a lot of threats and thread actors and has beautiful illustrations that explain it visually. I personally benefitted from this book as it helped me cover the knowledge gaps that I had on some concepts.I recommend this book to any web developer, even if you're not in a web security role. You will learn a lot about implementation at the base level to protect your application from malicious attacks. This book is very enjoyable to read. Don't rush through it.

The writing has the feel of being rushed. The explanations of how the vulnerabilities work and what to do about them are very high level and not sufficient for a developer. It would have been a lot better if it was language specific. The diagrams were also not helpful.

Grokking Web Security provides a solid overview of security every web developer needs to understand. Its importance cannot be understated.

Really enjoyed reading this book - contains practical advice for both security practioners and developers alike on how to write secure web applications. Unlike some security books, this book is written in a very accessible style, accompanied by practical examples. Worthwhile purchasing for the entire team!
