This is a great toy for tinkering and playing, but it does not compare to my actual professional quality kit made by Covert Instruments.If you are new to lockpicking and want to dip your toes in, try this set absolutely!But if you want something "professional" quality, go elsewhere.If this was sold as a beginners kit, I'd be giving 5*. As it's sold as a professionals kit, I will assess it as such and give it 3*.

Zip on case is broken

I've always fancied learning how to pick locks, and this kit seemed a cost effective introduction to the art. The kit comprises of a number of different tools that can be applied to pick a lock using different techniques. It's supplied with a transparent padlock, which is ideal for beginners and to learn the theory. This lock was very easy to pick though and I could do it using the wrench alone and without manipulation with the other tools! The instructions are appalling, and there's one tool that I haven't got a clue what it's for, or how to use it. There's numerous 3rd party tutorials on the Internet which have helped a lot. I'm now practicing on other locks with varying degrees of success.....master locksmith I'm not, but like everything ......practice...practice....practice!!!

This is a fully complete set which comes in a professional case. I must admit it is a lot more difficult than I expected but I will keep at it. The set even comes with a clear lock so you can see the mechanism and to gain an understanding of how locks work. This is fo professionals and I want to get to grips before I start my locksmith course and I am very happy with this.
